Sorry I haven't been so great about posting lately! I'm sure everyone is busy with the Holidays and everything... so I'm sure my lack of "blogging" hasn't really been a big deal. But I know Grammy and Aunt Bev like to see the pics and hear the stories on here, so I guess my apology goes out to you guys!

We've been doing pretty well lately! Just trying to get into a routine (if there is such a thing) down here. Since we came down here we have had about 4 days where it was just the 3 of us here, so Joss hasn't had too many nights in his bed and in his room. The past week or so has been a guy that came down to train Dallas (some training going on in the pic below). They just went out kayaking & camping this past week and Joss and I were here by ourselves for a few days. You'd think I would have had the time to get on here sometime when Joss was down for the night, but somehow I managed to stay super busy baking cookies, or cleaning, or Christmas shopping online or something.
He had so much fun this day pushing his little car out to the waves and then back up on the sand :) He didn't like it when his hands and fingers were all sandy, but he still had a lot of fun. I love his little naked butt :)

This is one of his favorite games-- crawl through the table and back and then back and then back again :) You get the idea!
Joss is on the GO constantly now-a-days. Look at him go in this pic :) He's really getting good at walking, and getting super fast too! It's so sweet to see the expression on his face as he comes wobbling toward you with his arms reached up way in the air and a big smile on his face with his little nose all scrunched up! He's so proud of what he is doing, and he knows we are proud too. I can't wait for my folks and Bev to see him walking this week. They are going to LOVE it!
We've been trying to get out and about to see some of the stores and things in the area we never really checked out before. We went to a restaurant with Dallas' folks last week where the lady feeds sharks after dinner and they come in this big pool that she's dug out with lights and everything. It's a prettyOh and you'll get a kic good little show! The lady herself is a bit odd and pretty rude, but the place was very nice and the sharks were cool.
There's this new hangout that we saw for playing arcade games and pool and stuff like that (mostly for the teenagers), but we wanted to see what it was all about while we were near it one afternoon. And as we had suspected from the look from the road... it's shut down. Not just closed though, there's a huge lock and chain on the door and sign posted for the owners to get caught up on their lease payments before it's reopened (but of course it was phrased in a Bahamian way that was pretty funny). Classic stuff for down here.
k out of this I think. We were at one of the little shops here that has a little bit of everything. Dallas as looking for parts to fix the boat, and we saw a PlayStation 2 priced at $350 LOL (For those of you that don't know, you can get a PS3--newer version for that price now in the states). AND we saw an old VCR..just plain old VCR, not a combo VCR and DVD or anything like that... just the VCR for $226. WHAT!?!?!?! Are you kidding me!!
We had our first trip to the clinic the other day (not first time ever-- I had to get stitches when we were here before). Joss was due for his 12 month shots, so we went in to get that done. I've got a pic here of the outside. I took a few on the inside, but they didn't really turn out too well. I was trying not to get caught :)

The little old ladies that were sitting outside the clinic were going crazy over Joss. Most of the babies down here are little "chocolate" babies with dark hair and dark eyes, so everyone makes a huge fuss over his baby blue eyes! Needless to say, I love it :) But anyways.. I got a kick out of how they weighed him. Apparently he is too big for the baby scale now (about the size of the scale that you would weigh your fruits and veggies in at the grocery store). So, Joss and I stepped on the scale together and then I got weighed by myself and then we subtracted the difference! LOL. I'm so used to hearing the pounds and ounces...but not this time. He's 22 lbs by the way :) I was terrified to step on the scale...most of you women can attest to the fact that you have to kind of psyche yourself up before you go to the doctor when you know you're getting weighed! Luckily I found out that I weigh less now than I did before I got pregnant with Joss!!! Thank You breastfeeding :)

We have really enjoyed Video Chatting with Bev! If you look closely at the picture below you'll see here on the screen :) She was playing peek-a-boo with Joss on here the other night and had him laughing so hard! It was really sweet. I try to let him walk around so that she can see him walking and stuff, but most of the time he comes across like a little blur on the screen because he's moving so fast and I can't keep up with him. So having him in the highchair worked really well :)
He discovered his tongue last week, and has been sticking it out ever since! I finally got him doing it :)

One of my projects this week was to give our funrniture a face lift. I had ordered some slipcovers a few weeks ago that finally got here. So this is the before pic...

And this is the after :) I really like them. Of course I can't get them to fit all nice and snug and crisp like on the picture, but they are super soft and the color is much more to my liking! I've got a rug coming too that should go very well with them, so slowly but surely this place is starting to come together for me :)

Well, I guess I have babbled on long enough for now. Joss and I leave for Bama this Tuesday and then Dallas joins us on Saturday. I can't believe it's time for Joss' first Birthday and Christmas already. It doesn't feel like Christmas time down here right now, but I'm sure it will once we get to Grammy's house with all her cute decorations and the cool weather and all the goodies that we've ordered are sitting there waiting for us!
Hope you all are doing well!

Joss is so cute!! I love babies. :) How fun to go to the beach all the time! Does he eat a lot of sand?
Lucky you below your pre-pregnancy weight! Not all of us are so lucky!
