These past few weeks have been busy and then felt like it came to a screeching hault. The last time I posted, Dallas was out on a week long kayaking trip. He and I had a good week of just trying to take care of things around here. And of course some beach time!
I can't wait for the water to warm up. He's gonna be in it ALL the time. It's actually pretty chilly most days if you are getting in and out of the water... we get our toes wet a lot, but that's about it unless it's a nice calm and hot day. I wish I knew what he was thinking in this shot of him on the beach--I just LOVE his expressions.
We were working on laundry and getting Joss' clothes organized one night, and he wanted to play in the basket :)
Just for fun, I put this picture of him when he was 2-3 months old and I was trying to get some laundry done, and the clingy thing that he was wouldn't let me lay him down (except for here in the basket)! LOL-- he doesn't quite fit the same anymore.
Joss and I (along with O'Neil) got to go pick Dallas up half way through the 2 week trek this particular group was making. It was a pretty fun outting! The boat hitched up to the truck no problem, and hauled all the way to the launch site well, and then once we got it started, the boat ran very smooth for us for our 45 minute trip up the cays to Daddy :) Dallas was very proud of us, and happy to see his ride home.
Joss was helping Daddy get his gear together so we could take him back home. He was very excited to see Daddy! Most of Dallas' trips will end back at the mainland, but this particular one was a little different.
We headed out for a nice little afternoon cruise in the harbor the other day, and took a little hike up to the salt beacon (old historic monument). At the top of that hill you can see a wonderful panoramic view of the harbor. Joss makes a great First Mate for his Captain :)
Here's me and Joss at the top of the hill by the salt beacon. You can see off in the distance some of the masts of the winter residents (the cruisers).
After the beacon, we went over to "Starfish Beach"-- which is called this because it is some kind of nesting/breeding ground for these beautiful starfish. You are guaranteed to see tons of them in this area. This was Joss' first time touching one.
My baby LOVES the water. Especially when it is nice and calm like this. He loves just sitting in the waves and running back and forth up and down the beach.
LOL-- this one I had to share!!!! Dallas took off running up in the bush to "relieve" himself, so naturally Joss wanted to follow Daddy. He took off running up the beach too. Dallas stepped on a bunch of prickly things so he came running back out of the bush back down to the water. I have a video clip of it on Phanfare :) Joss made a nice little turn to follow Daddy back down the beach, and then he just had to see what he was doing :) This one just cracks me up!! "Like father, like son!"
The weekend of Dallas' birthday Joss and I flew over to Ft. Lauderdale to do a "Bahamian style shopping spree". Don't worry, for his birthday, Dallas got to play Rock Band as loud and for as long as he wanted to with the guys on "X-Bob". So, needless to say, he managed to make it without us-- he was in good hands.
Grammy met me and Joss, and we all three tore up Ft. Lauderdale with our day of mayhem and shopping :) I got everything on my list, plus some! It was GREAT to have my mom there with us. Joss had a lot of fun with her in the toy aisle. Well, this wasn't in the toy aisle, but in a little dingy in West Marine (love this store now!). Joss was having a lot of fun playing in the little boats just his size. He's such a stinker!
We had to go put our toes in the sand for a few minutes at least since Grammy was so close to the beach. It was a nice break from the bitter cold weather they've been having in Bama. Joss was showing Grammy how well he can walk in the sand--she was very impressed!

This week has been pretty slow on the business side of things, but that usually happens right after the holidays. February starts picking things up, and March and April have already got quite a few bookings. If anyone is interested in jumping on one of the sailing or kayaking trips.. just let me know :) We've got some spots left!!
Until next update :)

Dalton said, "It's illegal for Dallas to pee in the water. He's hurting the fish!"
