A few tidbits from Nassau. No Emit yet, but time is running out and one way or another this baby will be here around this time next week. Lord willing it will be the way we want it to be, but we'll see what's in store.
When we first arrived in Nassau, Dallas and I started repairing these old antique rockers for Nancy. We'd never done the caning thing before, but it's actually a pretty neat process. It's time consuming and tiring like most crafts can be, but the finished products look pretty awesome I think.

Of course, Dallas deserves most of the credit... he did most of the work, but I got a little feel for it too... and sitting on the floor working on them wasn't the easiest thing to do right now. Joss is very happy to have a rocker here at Nana & Papa's now too as you can see by the way he is showing daddy his "thanks" :)
In our efforts to help assist Emit along and entertain Joss, we've been going on little strolls around the neighborhood. Luckily there are some nice stables just down the road where we get to see some pretty horses. This horse and donkey duo are the ones we get to pet :) They are very sweet!! Joss gets really excited around them now too.
We took them a few apples the other day which they REALLY liked, and got Joss even more excited around them. He's giving the sweet Donkey a kiss good-bye. She really is a sweetheart!

Joss had his first "unsupervised" ice cream cone the other day. He gets ice cream anytime we have some and are around him... but usually we're in the car or something and we can't just turn it over to him. Well, he had his very own cone last night. It was "mmmmmm doooood!!!" He kept trying to stand it up on it's own on the picnic table. Each time he tried it fell straight to the ground of course. The dogs were close by so we had to jump and grab it up (scrap off the top layer of dirt) quickly before they gobbled it down.
By the end of it... he had run around the patio and dropped most of it on the ground (which the dogs so graciously cleaned up for us) and had squished the cone into a soggy little mess. But hey, he didn't care, it was still good enough for him! He wanted to take his mess all through the house though, and that was when we had to get it from him. Straight to the bath we went.
Today I had another "wonderful" 5 hour visit at the clinic to do the same routine that I've done every week...I HATE Thursdays right now!!! I get so depressed on Wednesday nights knowing that I have to go there the next morning. But like I said earlier...one way or another Emit will be born by next weekend. I just continue to pray that he will come and everything can progress naturally and safely (and SOON).
Until next time...
