WAR EAGLE!!!!!
2011 BCS National Champions
Auburn does and always will hold a very special place in my heart. I went to school there my second year in college after playing softball for a year at a smaller university. When I was getting ready to transfer I remember talking to my friends and family and telling them that I wanted to go to school somewhere that I could grow as a person, but more importantly a Christian. I remember lots of folks telling me that it won't matter where I go, I have to do that on my own. I do understand that and where they were coming from, but I also remember feeling like I couldn't be the person I wanted to be at that first school. Especially after spending a year on a softball team that surrounded me with people with lifestyles that I never would have chosen to hang out with if I had the choice. It felt like an empty pursuit just to play softball a little longer, and not a sacrifice I was willing to make.
My very first day of school at Auburn I met Dallas at the Transit bus stop at our apartment complex. He and I were the only two there, and we started talking for a few minutes. I always like to throw it back at him that I even offered him a pop tart that he rejected :) It was many months before he and I ever started dating, but it was the early start of a very special relationship.
Early in my experience at Auburn I found my church home too, Lakeview Baptist Church. The season in my life that I was at Auburn was very memorable. I love the college experience I had because I met wonderful people that I am still friends with, but they were friends that sharpened me and challenged me as a Christian, and I will forever be blessed to call Auburn, my College Home.
So once again, WAR EAGLE!!!! Way to go guys, you make this family very proud to be Auburn Tigers!
"It's great to be an Auburn Tiger!"
THE ALMA MATER
On the rolling plains of Dixie
'Neath its sun-kissed sky,
Proudly stands, our Alma Mater
Banners high.
'Neath its sun-kissed sky,
Proudly stands, our Alma Mater
Banners high.
To thy name we'll sing thy praise,
From hearts that love so true,
And pledge to thee our
Loyalty the ages through.
From hearts that love so true,
And pledge to thee our
Loyalty the ages through.
We hail thee, Auburn, and we vow
To work for thy just fame,
And hold in memory as we do now
Thy cherished name.
To work for thy just fame,
And hold in memory as we do now
Thy cherished name.
Hear thy student voices swelling,
Echoes strong and clear,
Adding laurels to thy fame
Enshrined so dear.
Echoes strong and clear,
Adding laurels to thy fame
Enshrined so dear.
From thy hallowed halls we'll part,
And bid thee sad adieu;
Thy sacred trust we'll bear with us
The ages through.
And bid thee sad adieu;
Thy sacred trust we'll bear with us
The ages through.
We hail thee, Auburn, and we vow
To work for thy just fame,
And hold in memory as we do now
Thy cherished name.
To work for thy just fame,
And hold in memory as we do now
Thy cherished name.
