I think it is only fair that I post about some of Dallas' fishing these days. This is our family blog after all and I want to make sure that when we are sitting down years from now looking over these photos in our book that these good times of his are remembered too :)
Andy (pictured about with Dallas) and David (above) flew down for a few days of fishing over New Years with Dallas. Andy was on a sailing trip with us last year and swore he'd be back for more fishing... they are already planning the next trip now.
I find it a bit funny the 'domination' that is displayed in some of these photos with these fish because looking at the size of the fish and the size of the MEN catching them it seems unfair to me...but, these fish put up quite the fight, as I'm sure any fisherman out there knows already. Below Joel & Dallas are really showing this little black fin tuna who's boss...
Happy Hubby with his catch!
What's really nice when they catch all these Mahi Mahi (the yellowish ones) and the Wahoo (the black and silver ones) is they can sell some to the hotels and pay for gas to go out again :)
A little girly side note...I love using the sock bun curling technique on my hair. It is so fun to go from super super straight (which I love too) to nice and curly. I just wish I could tolerate it down more in the hotter weather. More times than not I have it up in a pony tail or something. It may be time for some kind of change in the hairdo...not really sure what, but we'll see.
My little dudes have daily routines right now that are very simple. Wake up...have their chocolate milk and breakfast while they watch their morning cartoons. Then as early as possible they are asking to go outside to play. They spend most of the day on their swing set or climbing in the trees and playing in the dirt. As Joss says, 'There is a time when I like to go to the beach a lot, but not right now!' I think that is his way of speaking in seasons :)
We will get back on our school routine very soon. I've been working on a very special project the last week or so and I'm trying to get that all finished and then hope to get back on a schedule with school.
Emit LOVES to help me when I'm doing my woodworking. Joss is more interested in helping me with the painting side of things, but Emit like the earlier stages. Isn't he an adorable little helper :) He was excited here playing with one of my new Christmas toys... the Kreg Jig-- AWESOME tool!
Such a sweet boy! Unfortunately he has picked up this bad habit of just yelling and screaming at me in a really snotty way when he doesn't get his way or doesn't want to help with something that he should. Makes me really sad when they do things like this, but then I see these sweet shots and remember they have their moments just like I do. And Lord knows, I make myself sad when I think of the way I get when I'm being snotty. Lord, love us all and forgive us all of our shortcomings!!
He's got his 'saw ready' pose going on here below for me. Whenever he's around and I'm about to cut something I'll give him fair warning to get all the way on the other end of the porch and he'll sit down and cover his ears like this. I had him show me for the picture so he'd be nice and close :) Plus it is kind of hard to cut and capture all in the same beat without risking some fingers along the way.
We got hit with a little bug this week and the boys were definitely not running on full speed. We spent a lot of time inside trying to just take it easy and rest. One of our activities that they really liked was painting our finger and toenails. I painted my toes back around Christmas and they finally noticed them and kept on asking for theirs to be done like mine.
Of all the colors I have to choose from, which includes blues, greens, yellows, etc, they chose bright red and hot pink.
My cute little 'daughters'! I'll have fun with this right now because they won't be asking for this for too long. We've been going around all week showing off our fingers and toes :)
LOL, isn't he pretty :)
Of all the things I try to do to get these guys to sit still for me...and painting their nails is the trick...hmm, may have to keep this one in my back pocket for a bit. Joss told me the other day that his were getting messed up and he needed to start over with them.
Joss helping Daddy row the boat out of the pond in Gerogetown.
Happy Early Birthday to Dallas!!! He bought these rods off a guy down here and got a GREAT deal on them, or so I'm told :) But I do know they make him very happy and are going to help us run Deep Sea Charters a lot easier.
The lighting is horrible, but that smile is genuine :)
In a low whisper voice, "they are playing together...NICELY!" Shh, I shouldn't jinx it.
Tuna getting some loving...a nightly routine.
Yesterday Dallas got to go break-in his new rods with his buddy, Joel. The two of them set out before sunrise to be in the perfect location when the sun came up and the fish could see.
CC & Poppy... you like the YETI hat he's sporting here too?? This was also his first time out with his new YETI cooler...which he was totally stoked about too :)
They got really lucky with pretty much perfect weather all day. They headed off the coast of Exuma and over to Long Island and turned around and came back. They even spotted a whale :) When he came home and told the boys that he saw a whale Joss said, "We need to go get in the boat and go see that whale!" I agree Joss, momma wants to see one out here too.
Flat calm weather, hungry fish and nice new rods equals....
WAHOO!!!!!! And a really big one at that. This one weighed a little over 40lbs and was the second catch of their trip. Later on in the day they caught the 'head' of one twice this size, but they saw a splash while the line was in the water and the head had shark bites all over it on the piece that came on the boat. SO.. some shark was very happy with a big ole Wahoo for dinner this day. It would have probably been (based on the size of the head) about 90lbs or more. Needless to say, Daddy was a happy man after his day on the boat catching fish!

Wow, fishing seems to be fun and eventful -- whale sighting and shark biting!!! The men are certainly having fun - love their "little" trophy catch ;0) Gotta love the boys and their pink nails... it's so stinking cute!!! Thanks for sharing the activities with us - I'm missing them badly...
Yeah for the YETI hat, did you get anything else with the cooler?
Hugs and prayers...
