Nana & Papa's Visit Part 1

Still trying to wrap up August here on the blog. Dallas' folks came to spend a week with us.
I had to do a double take on this picture of Emit chilling at the front of the sailboat, he looks a lot like Joss here.
The dogs came on this visit, which Joss and Emit thought was so cool that they came on the airplane. He was telling my mom and dad while we were visiting them recently that they need to bring Buddy and Dumplin with them on the 'hairplane' the next time they come because that's what Nana and Papa did. We are about to have to get this sweet boy a dog, I think. I would love one, but I get a little hesitant knowing it will be just another responsibility and expense. But I know Joss & Emit would be sooooo happy to have one as a pet.
The dogs were not about to get left behind, and they weren't about to let Nana get too far away without jumping in after her.
Joss above checking out a sea cow. Another fun creature!
Playing with the dogs and stingrays at Chat-n-Chill!
I was requested to take this picture above. Never got a request for the grands with the kids, but one with the dogs... of course!
Chat-n-Chill= COKE treat :) or at least part of a coke.
Don't know about you, but it makes me wanna grab a coke.
You can see the storm clouds rolling in in the back too.
LOL, the many faces of Emit!
Dallas was feeling violated knowing I had the camera pointed on him and Hungry Eyes ;)
Caught ya Joss...Little stinkers!
While they were visiting, Tropical Storm Issac was blowing by. I guess we have a thing for the "I" storms right now.
Last year was Irene (hurricane though), this year Issac has been the biggest threat so far. One day leading up to the rainy part of the storm, they all headed down to Little Exuma and gave momma some time to work. This time I was inside on the computer working, but it was much needed nonetheless.
I hate missing out on anything with the boys. Seeing the big waves, playing on new beaches, etc... I just can't stand not being there. But I also need a break from time to time and have to take it when I can get them.
This gives you a pretty good idea of the storm. It rained a little later as it was passing a bit closer, which you'll see a little further down in the pics here.
The boys weren't playing right in the heart of the waves at the rough part, but they got a few swells that entertained them for quite a while apparently :)
Needless to say, they slept very well this night! I think Papa probably did as well.
Some of the rain passing by...
We did need the rain, but it was coming down pretty hard a times. We never did lose power though, so that was great.
I had to put a little shelter over my pumpkin plants, and after taking it off I thought I was going to lose them to the caterpillars, but they are still hanging in there. No signs of pumpkins, but I have green vines and some flowers...not really sure if I'll get anything more at this point... but who knows?? :) More to come soon...

I don't think Andy and Nancy are capable of aging...they look great. So funny that they wanted a picture with the dogs and not the boys. The dogs are like their kids I'm sure. Joss seems to be quite the animal lover....maybe you have a little veterinarian on your hands:).

I knew you would see the shirt on my blog post...I didn't realize he was wearing it until I posted it...we like to represent here in Tennessee!!!

Great pictures as usual....wishing you lots of luck with the pumpkins. We are headed to the pumpkin patch and corm maze this morning,

I'm glad you identified Emit in the first picture...I was puzzled! Love your little Coke drinkers and they sure could sell me on wanting to drink one ;0) So happy the the storm didn't cause havoc...watching the news causes me great fear :0(
