I pretty much hit the ground running when I got back home, and I don't think I have slowed down much yet. It's now March, and this was back in September. I've been running strong, but still not quite getting all my 'to-do's' DONE.
You see Daddy's Little Helpers here working on painting the shed. I liked it the natural wood color, but in order to weather-proof it, we needed to prime and paint it. Now that it is finished, I like it even more though :) Above you see my windows... those are 'before and after' but they aren't that great of images. Our glass doors had this tinting on them, which helped a lot in the afternoon when the sun would come beating in. However, it was peeling, cut, old, and just never looked clean. So one day I finally figured out it could be peeled off easily. I love peeling stickers off of new things anyway, so imagine my excitement at peeling off this nasty looking tinting to reveal the pretty glass under neath them. Ahhh, one thing that actually looks clean after you go through the effort to clean it now.
Caleb (neighbor and friend) has a September birthday too, and they had a nice little party down at the beach on a beautiful thunderstormy kind of Exuma afternoon. The kids had fun, the dogs had fun, and I had fun snapping away.
I always love the summer clouds... they are like giant curtains closing on stage.
Zoe and her new BFF, Snapper, chased and barked and ran and dug holes all afternoon.
Shells, surfing, sailing, splashing...SUMMER FUN at its best!
I headed to Nassau for a quick doctor's appointment, to do a little sofa shopping (thanks to my mom and dad) and of course to meet my newest niece and see Little Man Mason & Heather. This was during their long stay in Nassau while awaiting all the final steps of the adoption with Karis to be finished. So Mason and Nancy ran me all over Nassau helping me decide which sofa to get. The homemade one had run its course and my folks were very gracious to help us get a new one. I went with the gray one in the middle... and I haven't regretted the choice since :)
Heather and I squeezed in a 'date night' one night which was a nice little break from our duties.
The boys welcomed me home with open arms and slip and sliding in the driveway :)
Never a dull moment...
