The 4th and more...

The weekend of the 4th was pretty fun and eventful for us (as it seems to have been for lots). It's been fun reading everyone's blogs about what they did over the long weekend. Here's what we did....

Dallas had Friday off of work, and we just took it easy and tried to get some work done around the house. That night we had some yummy food with the Foshee's and Smith's. Then we headed over to the church to watch some fireworks. Joss was captivated by them.. that's for sure :)

Can you see his little mohawk in the back :) It's soooo cute!!! He was asleep when we pulled up to watch the show, and then he just watched the fun fireworks and fell back asleep on the ride home!
On Saturday we headed up to J'ville to spend some time with my folks and for Dallas to get some interviews done on Monday & Tuesday. Sunday afternoon Bev and her boyfriend Kevin took us Rock-Climbing. Kevin is a certified instructor, so he has all the fun equipment and Know-How :) Unfortunately, our fun day of climbing was also a landmark for Joss' first OWEE. My dad was holding him and went to go sit down on the hammock, and somehow the darn thing threw them straight to the ground right on top of tree roots and rocks. My dad sacrificed his body and was able to save Joss from getting hurt worse. He got a little scrap and bruise on his head, but he was a tough little guy and just cried for a few minutes.

Overall we had a very fun outting and had a great time learning Kevin's hobby! "On Belay?" "Belay on!" "Climbing!" "Climb on"..... I think that's the order :) I couldn't keep it straight the other day. I had one area that was my "everest". I was about 3-4 inches too short to get up at one part and get the next hold. I tried and tried....but finally admitted defeat (for now) before anything bad happened. Next time...

Monday and Tuesday were spent job hunting in the area for Dallas. FUN STUFF!!! Hopefully, and Lord willing, something will open up soon and we will have a ticket up there soon. Well, I guess that's all for now. Little man is about ready to go down for a pre-sleep nap :)
