Well, here we are--- our new home! We lived in this complex before, but not the same room. This time we have a 2 bedroom :) If you look close at the picture below, there is a beige tent sitting in front of the bottom floor on the 1st building you see... that's the front of our apartment. We are very pleased with this location. For down here, this is great! The next step up is something in the million dollar range it seems.
The first few days were spent scrubbing and cleaning this place so we could feel better about the new mess we made :) But it's feeling more and more like home now. Once we get our stuff (especially my kitchen stuff) it will feel much better. Of course I can't wait to get our photos up, rugs and slipcovers and things like that to add our own touch to this place...but here's what we're starting with; or at least a corner of it :) I'll put more pics when we get all our stuff unpacked.
Joss really enjoys the turtle pond right out the front door. Dallas takes him there first thing every morning. We usually end up walking to see them a few times a day.
Joss is such a sweet "helper" around the house. Here he is helping me unpack some groceries Grammy got us when she was down here!! THANKS :)
And look... he can even help me put things away! Who wouldn't want this cute little butt helping them in the kitchen :)
I absolutely love the size of my new sink for this reason right here!!! The only thing I don't like is the electrical outlet right there, but I've got safety plugs for those.
Dallas has had the grassy area outside our front door covered in tents, bags, camping gear, stoves, kayaks, sails and everything in between the past two weeks. Joss really likes checking things out and making sure they pass his inspection! He really likes the kayak :)
Yesterday we were able to get out on the water in one of our sailboats (we have five 21' Sea Pearls for our sailing trips). Joss liked it for the most part. He doesn't like his lifejacket at all, so he went in little spurts when he realized how confined he was with it on and got really upset. Then he would stop crying and realize... hey, this isn't so bad; I might even like this.
I don't have a sailing background at all, but I can tell I am going to love learning how to sail these little guys. They are so user friendly and easy to just get out and go in them. This is Jack going over a few things with Dallas. (Jack's father-in-law is the man we purchased the gear from.)
Jim, the former owner, his wife, daughter and Jack have all been down here for the week going over paperwork and finalizing things with us, but mostly with Dallas' friend (O'Neil) from Nassau who recently purchased the other side of the company. He and his wife will be moving down here soon from California to run the day trips. We are VERY excited to be having them join us here on the island. O'Neil is actually staying with us right now for a few days trying to get a lot of his start-up stuff sorted out. Needless to say it's been pretty hectic around here lately, but we managed to squeeze in some fun sailing yesterday!
Joss is always a little shocked by the taste of salt-water in his mouth. But he is really starting to like playing in the waves (like below).
He has been so wonderful through all of this transition and crazyness. He's sleeping well for me and just an all around GREAT baby. He's started doing this squealing thing lately... it is so high pitched and so loud...but it's Joss :) so it makes us laugh!

I've have uploaded A LOT of new pictures and videos (some old, some new) to Phanfare. If you want to see them... just click here. If you can't get logged in, let me know and I can make sure you're on the list. I don't mind anyone looking at the photos and videos... I just like to know how all is!
Business is off to a running start! We have a group of 13 kayakers out right now, and more go out tomorrow and later in the week! Lord, please keep it steady!!! Thank you for the encouragement in your comments, emails, phone calls.... they all mean so much to us. We really mean it when we say we'd love to have you visit us down here!!! Just let us know when... we are always up for company.
Until next time~
