The past 3 days have been pretty crazy. Monday was a pretty rotten day. For some reason things down here just seem to have the snowball effect on problems. I imagine it's like this is most places... it just takes a little longer to get anything done down here. Take for instance a small power boat that we have now....Dallas went to start to start it before he left the place it was being stored (also the mechanics place). It wouldn't start (of course) so he went back after the guy had a chance to look at it (about 2 days later) to take it for a test drive and show O'Neil around the harbor. They launch it and are driving around the pond to make sure it's running well before heading out to the harbor and the propellar falls off the thing. Thank goodness it happened then and not when they were going half way fast. After a while of swimming in the pond, they managed to find almost all the parts to put it back together.
I'm sure it's like this with any kind of equipment (boats, vehicles, bikes, houses, etc)....but it just seems to always snowball with one problem after another.
On the plus side though... we had a petty good day yesterday. Found out our stuff SHOULD be here tomorrow if all goes well. And my prayer is that it hasn't been sitting out in the weather these past two weeks getting rained on like crazy. But the good story: our friend O'Neil is trying to get things going with the other side of the company and he and Dallas have been helping each other out a lot lately...here's one of his little stories:
We went to the "home depot" type store down here yesterday morning to get a jack for all the flat tires we've been getting on trucks and trailers. Well, they showed us the most basic kind of jack you could get and it was $87. We all kind of cringed a little. Just for kicks we asked what the price was on the "mega" jack sitting next to it. The guy pulled it down and we all saw the sticker on it and it said $55. We all (including the worker) laughed and said, Yeah right!! We were trying to bribe the guy and we jokingly said, "Sold, we'll give you cash right now!" He laughed an said he better check with someone to make sure. This was supposed to be $155 or even $555 probably on this thing, so we all figured there's no way we're getting away with this. Sure enough nobody said otherwise and the BOSS at the register didn't even really pay much attention... SWEET!!!! Or as O'Neil would say "NAILED IT!!" Finally something went our way :) Thank you LORD!
Joss has been so great through all this crazy stuff. He's so close to walking it's not funny. I just posted a video on phanfare of him pushing a chair around the living room and just laughing.... I'm so glad I have this little guy down here to keep me company. I can't wait for Lyndsay (O'Neil's wife) to get down here.... I've never met her, so I hope she likes me because I've already claimed her as my island buddy!! :)
Anyways-- guess this is long enough for now. Love you guys!

Love ya,

I'm sure it doesn't help, but I've always been told a boat is simply a hole in the water in which money is poured into... :)
Don't worry, it's should be one of those "occassional" expenses. Keep your chin up!
I think Joss needs a Bama shirt! :)
