One beautiful spring afternoon in Oxford, Alabama,
Two strangers were in a crowded little Starbucks in need of some "Joe".
There were no seats to be found or empty tables to sit at,
He asked her to join him and was so thankful she didn't go.
They hit it off right away and really enjoyed that time,
They exchanged their information in hopes they would meet again.
The guy liked this girl...he knew she was very special;
The girl liked this guy...he was different from other men.
They were quiet about their outtings and didn't tell many folks,
After a few dates, things were going really well, they decided to share their news.
The guy soon met her family: her mom, her dad and her little sister,
Her grandparents and cousins and even her little nephew.
The family thought the guy seemed to make the girl really happy.
They all fell in love with him right from the start,
They seemed perfectly made for each other,
Could this be the one, had he captured her heart?
Only time could tell where this thing was headed.
The guy knew she was the one for him; the girl of his dreams.
The girl was shocked and surprised this was happening to her,
The Lord did have a Love Story for her after all it seems.
He started to plan for their future together and the way he would ask,
He knew it would be special and a moment to treasure.
He asked her parent's for their permission and blessing's,
The girl saying YES would give him such great pleasure.
Her Nannie's diamond and a high tech ring box were merely the beginning;
It was coming together for that day he would ask for her hand,
He surprised her in the Bahamas while she was on her spring break.
He snuck out of the bush and knelt down in the sand.
She couldn't believe we were all in on it and had told so many lies.
They hugged and kissed and celebrated their moment.
It was so sweet to see the happiness in their eyes.
This girl is my sister, Bev, and truly my best friend.
You've done it sis...you found your other half.
I pray for you guys a long happy life until the very end!
We love you guys and are so happy for you.
We will be there on the day when you both say "I DO".
You seem so happy and very much in love,
We wish you the best and will always love YOU!

Bravo, Tamara! I do love a good love story/ poem.
And I had tears in my eyes when I saw the pictures of Kevin down on one knee in the sand!
Thanks for sharing it from your perspective, complete with photography!
Best of luck to our Bevvy and Kevin.
What a sweet tribute to your sister.
Nicely done! I love the photo of their hands forming a heart - I haven't seen that one...
I'm glad you were a part of it coming together...
