Catching back up....

So it's been almost a month since I've posted anything-- sorry about that. During the time that we've actually been home, I've been going through a reading frenzie the past couple weeks. I've read about 12 books (and counting), and for me (with Joss around) that's a lot. It's been fun though, but it has cut into my online time :)

We had our trip to the states a couple weeks back. We got to spend a couple nights out in Tyler, Texas with April & David (Dallas' sister) and their sweet baby girl, Olivia. Joss didn't seem to react too much to me holding Olivia like everyone was expecting, but I think he knew we were just visiting. It will be interesting to see my balancing act with the new little one around here.

After Texas we went to "Sweet Home Alabama" to spend some time with my family. Our travel connections from place to place were a nightmare the entire trip, and we actually ended up driving through the night from Tyler to Birmingham because our flights were cancelled due to weather. But we made it, and didn't have to wait around in the airport overnight. Our time in Jacksonville was short and sweet and really flew by. But we were very thankful for the visit nonetheless.

During our stay there we had an ultrasound. We opted for a surprise with Joss last time around and didn't know he was a "HE" until he came out. This time around we thought it might be fun to find out. My mom, dad and sister were able to come into the ultrasound with us (something none of them had been to before) so it made it even more special. We got to do the 4D this time around as well, and could see HIM pretty well. Yep!! That's right, we're having another little boy. We are super excited! Of course, we still had the girl name that we didn't use the first time set aside if we had a little girl this time, so we had to go back to the drawing board for his name.. and we still aren't 100% sure we've decided, but we're getting pretty close.

It's really strange this time around to know it's a HE when we talk about him now. I still loved how we did it with Joss, and it made it really fun. And if we have another one (years down the road), we'll probably keep it a surprise again. But for now... we're enjoying talking about "our boys".

Joss is soooooo much fun right now. He's trying all kinds of words. He'll immitate things we say, or see something in a book or on tv and say what it is (or atleast try). I brought back a ton of books that Bev and I used to have in our collection from my mom and dad's and have had a ball reading those with him. It's part of our bedtime routine now, and such a sweet time! He really gets into his "Your Baby Can Read" stuff now.

In the water he is a little dare devil. He'll just start walking out into the water now and goes until it is right up to his neck. Of course, we are right there next to him ready to grab, but still... he is fearless!
We are getting ready for Dallas' family and some friends to come down for the famous "Chaos Cruise". There's about 15 or so folks in all. They are going to be staying in the apartment complex we live in for the week they are here. It should be fun, and we are looking forward to showing everyone our "neck of the woods". We'll be playing in the kayaks and sailboats alot this coming week I'm sure. I'll post some pics and stories when I can. Hopefully there won't be any "shark tales" or accident stories. Dallas was playing Shark Bait this past week, so that was enough adventure for me for a while.

Hope you've enjoyed the rundown, and hope you are all enjoying your summer!
