1 Week With Our New Family!

Man oh man!!! What a week it has been :) I said in the last post that I would post my labor story, but I'm not going to. To sum it up quickly... I was in labor for about 9 hours, pushed for a little over an hour, and after they tried and failed to get Emit to turn using the suction vaccum they decided to do a c-section again. Of course I was sad that we came so close and couldn't go that final step, but the doctors said that I just wasn't designed to birth them naturally. Looking at it now I think, no big deal, at least I tried! I wish I had known that in advance and my recovery would be a breeze right now though. I'm having a harder time recovering from things that happened during labor than I am the area for my c-section. Overall the recovery is coming along quite nicely and quickly though.

Joss has really been amazing through this transition. I don't really know what I was expecting, but he has been so fascinated with Emit and saying "Hi, be-be!" He grabs our hands and has us touch Emit when he's laying down near by.
My mom has been here since Emit was born to help look after Joss. She has been going non-stop since she landed. He hasn't given her much time to catch her breath. We have been very thankful for her energy to keep up with him right now :)
Emit has jumped right into our swing of things too. He's really a sweet baby. He can get fussy when he's not getting his way, but he's been a trooper in all the commotion. He actually sleeps better when Joss is running around nearby and making all kinds of noise. When it's bedtime and things get quiet... he's not so happy to be in his basket. That's when he wants to snuggle with mommy :) (all night long).
Joss loves his little brother already. I am so excited to see these guys grow up so close in age--man it' going to be entertaining. I am super proud of "my boys"! I know I've got some fun times ahead of me with these three :)
We were able to get out of the house a bit the other day and take my mom for a walk around Atlantis. We finally got to put the stroller to it's full use and avoid the questions like "where's the other one?" It was funny though because at one point I was carrying Emit, my mom was carrying Joss, and Dallas was pushing the empty stroller-- ha ha ha, sounds about right huh!
Grammy with her boys in the BIG chair :) We were getting lots of compliments on our "good-looking children". Needless to say, Mom and Dad were pretty proud to be walking around showing off our blessings!
Having Emit hasn't been nearly as terrifying as it was the first time around. I'm not so stressed about every little cry or moan or tummy rumble as I was with Joss. It's nice to not be so stressed. It feels totally different the second time around, but we are still so happy.
Emit DOES NOT like getting wet yet, but Joss was exactly the same way. We were at the pool the other day and I stuck his little feet in the water---you would think I was torturing the poor little guy he was screaming so hard. This is about the only bathtime moment he hasn't been having a fit in. I'm sure it's only a matter of time before he's diving under like his brother.

Well, we are getting used to being a familly of 4 now, but it still hasn't quite sunk in I don't think. My mom left today, so I'm sure we'll feel it hit home a lot more now since she won't be here to pick up extra slack for us.

"Lord, we are truly thankful for our precious boys and the blessings you have poured upon us. Please help us to raise these little guys to know you and find you early in their life. Show us how to be good examples to our sons and to guide them along the way. Make our little family strong in you!"

I'm glad to hear everything is going so well for you guys! Emit is certainly a doll, and Joss looks like a proud big brother.
Funny how we both ended up going the c-section route, but in the end we got a couple of healthy babies.

Love you, Tamara!
