Our main purpose for our trip was to let everyone meet Emit and just relax. We were pretty successful with that :) The weather was the perfect little crisp fall weather and it was a much needed break after our summer down here in the heat.
My mom was super excited that Joss finally started calling her something on this trip. All the kids in the family call her "C.C.", but Joss' take on that was "She She"...and he LOVES his "She She".
Bev got in her fair share of loving too. We got to spend a couple days with her in Birmingham in her SUPER COOL LOFT :) We played some b-ball in her living room-- so much fun!
Joss got to play with his cousins too. You think my mom is happy here?? All these little ones surrounding her--she's on cloud nine.
It felt liked Emit was growing right before our eyes on this trip. He is really starting to interact with us a lot more now. He has the cutest little dimple on his cheek when he smiles and coos with us. It is so different when they start to react to your face and voice. I feel like Emit and I really bonded more over these past couple weeks.
I had a lot of fun time with Joss too. My dad, also known as "Pop Pop" was awesome with Emit and he would just carry him all over the place (which made Emit really happy and gave me some free time with Joss). Joss' days were spent throwing rocks in the puddle, running up and down the driveway, playing ball on the stairs and just running around outside as much as possible. Anything that goes UP is "upstairs" and anything that goes DOWN is "downstairs" according to Joss. :) He is in such a fun stage right now where he will attempt to say everything just about. Some of the stuff is really entertaining too!
On a sad note...my Papa (my mom's dad) passed away while we were there. It was truly God's timing that we were able to be there for that. The boys were a good distraction for my family through all the heartache.

It is so hard to say good-bye to him, but he truly is better off up in Heaven than he has been these last couple months and years even. He was very sick there at the end and was suffering so much. It is a comfort to know that my Nannie was up there with open arms waiting to greet him. We will miss him very much. Please keep my mom and her brother in your prayers. This is a very difficult time for them. With both of their parents gone, I can't imagine the emotions they are feeling.
With my grandfather passing away, it felt much harder to leave my family this time around. We are glad to be back home and back in our "routine" of things, but it was a very sad farewell. .JPG)
My mom was our escort on our return flights. Joss really enjoyed spending time with his "she she". Hopefully it won't be too long before we can see you all again!
