So a few days ago I posted one of the pictures from our Mother's Day kayaking trip...which was also Emit's first time in the kayak :) He was pretty excited about the new adventure. I just love his expression in both of these shots. This one below was while we were paddling and he was taking in every little thing. He loved getting his little fingers wet and watching the paddle.
We went to one of the old spots we used to take folks kayaking for short day trips when we worked for the company that we bought, Moriah Cay. It never fails to take our breath away. It really is a beautiful spot!
We went walking along the beach. It's always neat to see how the beachfronts shift over time. We followed this one along and found that little cove that I posted on the other blog.
Joss also found this crab shell which he thought was really neat. My camera case started fogging up on me here, so that's why it's all hazy. He had so much fun playing with this thing though. He played with it so much in the water that it pretty much dissolved, but he had fun while it lasted :)
My battery on my camera died soon as we got to the cove and my back-up one was back at the kayak, so I only got that one shot. Dallas is calling it "Tamara' Cove" now though... so hopefuly we'll get back there soon and get lots of pictures.
Emit was getting pretty sleepy with all the new things to take in, so he fell right asleep on me (which doesn't happen very often) and slept like this all the way back to the truck (about a half hour paddle). And then Joss started out in the back seat with Dallas and then he ended up sitting on the deck right behind me and holding on to my shoulders and neck--it was really calm where we were and he had his wings on. Not a bad way to kayak huh :)
Here's a couple video clips that I was finally able to get uploaded (some are from a couple weeks ago, but I just love them):
This first one is of Joss singing-- I just LOVE his sweet voice singing this song..I like "a diamond in the sky" part best:
Next we have Joss playing and then telling you, in his own way, that I put my swimsuit on--LOL:
Part of Joss' daily routine is finding "izzards". Daddy still has to help him catch them to begin with (mommy's afraid she'll squish them), but he has no problem catching them after he throws them down :)
We're always trying to find "trash" or items that we can use for multiple purposes to play with or create something fun with. This one worked pretty well for a few days. We had little tunnels for the trains and cars and then the ramps. Of course Emit didn't quite play with it like Joss wants, but it worked for a while :)
I just love this picture of them in the tub. Emit is to the point where he can sit up very well in the tub and play with Joss. Well, he has no problem sitting up it's just a struggle trying to keep him from standing up. But I just think it's so sweet how Joss has his arm around him. He is so sweet with Emit most of the time-- then he'll turn on him in an instant and start pushing him...but he is quick to tell him "saahh-weee, Emit". I know he loves him... it's just a phase right now.
The boys don't like it too much when I vaccum around them. Joss watches it with a very careful eye and usually runs and hides in the pillows on the couch or something. Emit is usually fine if I'm carrying him around while I do it, but the other day I wanted to get their room really well, so I put them in Joss' crib and told him he'd be safe in there while the vaccum monster cleans his room. I asked him if he could keep Emit safe too. LOL....
We're all getting anxious for our trip to the states for Bev's wedding. Island Fever is definitely setting in and making us a little stir crazy right now. On Thursday we'll leave here for Nassau and head to the states about a week later.
I'm starting to pray now for the boy's sleep and rest while we're traveling. It can get so stressful just trying to keep them on a good routine and happy while we're all over the place. I am flexible with it, but when they are tired and fussy because they get tired it makes things hard....but usually Joss is really great when we're away, and he's SOOO looking forward to getting on the "blue plane to play on THAT green slide" at CC & Poppy's house, so we should be good.
