I feel like sometimes this little man gets overshadowed by Joss' little tales sometimes, but trust me...we love him every bit as much. We have had a hard couple weeks with him though. Sometime before Bev came Emit got a little reaction to something he ate I think. I'm guessing it was the rice cereal, because he got a little rash to one of the cereals I tried around 6 months too. So, no more cereal for him.

You can see his arm in the picture above where it has a little red spot, but that's just a small part...he's got this thing all over his arms and legs and even part of his back. I feel so helpless because I'm only allowed to put the cream on it twice a day. In addition to this he got a heat rash when we were picking up Dallas and had to spend a lot of time in the truck getting the boats out of the water. And this heat rash was all over his little body.

And to put the final icing on the cake, he's cutting his third tooth...gee whiz how much is one little guy supposed to take? Needless to say his sleep habits have taken a real hit with all this irritation. His longest little stretch the last two or more weeks has been from about 6pm-9pm. Then he's up almost every hour on the hour. My energy has taken a real hit too. It's horrible not really knowing how to comfort him. Sometimes I'll gently scratch his back or legs where it seems to be really itchy for him, we'll soak in baths, I'll nurse him, I'll let him sleep on my chest until I feel like I can't breathe anymore :), I'll carry him around, I'll try to rock with him, but nothing ever works for a really long time, and so we just kind of jump from one thing to the next.

He really is a trooper though. His hardest times are when he's trying to relax and sleep, because I'm sure it's super annoying to have your entire body itching while you're trying to fall asleep. He's getting better. The rashes are starting to go away and I think he's passed the hard part with the tooth, so hopefully we are on the mend and will be back on a good sleep routine soon (for all our sakes). We were fortunate enough to have some of our friends that used to live down here (when we were here before) come down for a visit this week. They are working on getting back down here and we are praying HARD that it all works out. Joel & Ann Ligon have 3 little boys too (how much fun could that be?) so they were very encouraging for us. Ann Ligon prayed over Emit last night when he woke up one time and it really meant a lot to me. I have really missed having Godly women in my life. Please Lord, let them get back down here!!!

As you can see...he's not letting the rash and teething defeat him. He's still the sweetest little thing. I really do love this little guy! I am ready to get more sleep for sure, but I LOVE him with all my heart. (And Joss too of course) :)

Precious baby! How I wish to just cuddle and love on him. I love his many expressions and always wonder what he must be thinking??? He looks so happy, even in the midst of discomfort and lack of sleep:0)
Give the little "bulldog" hugs and kisses from Grammy!
Love ya lots!!!
Oh no! I hope he doesn't end up with a ton of food allergies! He looks pretty happy, despite it all. :)
Poor little guy. He's a trooper.
