Back to norm...

So, this last week and a half I have worked on the website as long as I could and most of the time it was most of the day and very late in to the night. Dallas has been playing with and taking care of the boys most of the day, and doing a really good job at it. He's exhausted at the end of the days, but he's been a trooper :) It's been fun seeing our roles a little reversed this week, but I miss hangin with my boys, so I'm glad it's over.

Dallas and his brother's all decided to swim for their old swim club (and the one their parent's operate still) next year in Nationals for the Master's group. So, let the training begin :) I am considering trying to swim one of the long races to give me something to work for. I've never competed in a swim meet before, so the thoughts of doing that (at Nationals) is pretty intimidating. It would be for the Master's age group, and I would be doing one of the races that hardly anyone swims. It would be a LONG race though, so I would be going for endurance. My thoughts go something like this: I never ran a race longer than a 5K before I signed up for my first half-marathon before Joss was born, so why not?? My goal then was to run it without walking... and I did. My goal for this is to just finish without drowning :) Dallas will be my personal trainer, so it should be fun!

If nothing else we'll have fun hanging out at the beach "training". Not a bad training facility, huh!?

This time of year with it being so hot we spend just about every afternoon (2-3 hours at a time) in the water so we don't sweat to death. Emit tries to eat his body weight in sand every time we go which means we get "sandy" dirty diapers a few hours later.

I can't help but laugh at this shot of me with the boys above... rarely am I actually in pictures with them.. and when I do there's a drop of water on the camera-- HA! At least the boys still look cute though.

Ha ha...cute little tush!

Joss is getting very close to swimming without his wings on... he likes putting his head under and showing us how a "big boy" swims :)
Tip: The only way to eat a Mango is in the ocean... the boys really enjoy them too!
Here's some of our sailboats... but this is just my way of saying the website it done :) YAY!!! I'm still "tweaking" a few little things that are acting up, but the majority of the site is up the way I want it. I had a great stock of photos from folks that went out on our trips and friends and family and even a bunch of our own photos to choose from this time around. I'm sure you are well aware (just from following this blog) how much I love photos. Anyway, we are very happy with the way this one turned out, and I don't plan to redo this one any time soon. Check it out when you have some time... and please pass it on to your friends :) www.outislandexplorers.com

This week we have our friends, Josh & Saharh (and baby B in the belly) visiting. It's always great having visitors and company, especially during our slow time in the summer (hint hint hint). Hopefully we'll have some fun stuff to share with you from this week. Sunday is the opening of crawfish (lobster) season...Dallas is expected to fill our freezer full when we go out.. so we'll see :)

Thank you for the update! Looks like everyone is having a great time at the beach - love Emit's 'lil tush and Jossy floating on his boat - I really love them guys :0) Joss appears to still be unsure about the sea grass !?!?

Of course you can handle the challenge - go for it!!! What do you have to lose? It will be a fun way to experience the competition of swimming... Good luck to you and Dallas!
