My Hunter...

August 1st opens Crawfish Season (lobsters) in the Bahamas. It's as big as deer hunting season in Alabama :) And there's a National Holiday on August 2nd "Emancipation Day" (coincidence...I think not)!

We know how to take things easy down here, Emit's learning that at an early age!
Don't get me wrong...we can have a lot of fun too! Notice Joss going for "8 seconds" above and poking fish eyes below! Our friends, Joel & Ann Ligon, just moved back on Saturday with their three boys, Haegan (21 months), Mason ( 4 years) and Caleb (almost 7 years). They live in the cottage about 50 feet from us. Oh BOY...I'm not sure I'm ready for this...but it'll make for some interesting stories I'm sure. Just in one day I've already gone through: "If you want to 'hunt' coconuts you have to put your shoes on", "Easy, don't bang your head like that it's going to hurt", "Don't rock the chair like that you'll tip over again", "we've got to share our toys with our friends", "No, don't bite Emit's toe", and this is just the first full day!!!! Ann Ligon, we've got our hands full now :)

The boys were very excited about Daddy's kills of the day. Emit kept eye-balling this big snapper because he was still flopping all around on the beach. He got a little antsy each time he would flop.

This is what you call a nice start to Crawfish season... dinner was Yummy!

Now that is what you call good eatin'. Good job you guys!!! We caught 240 pounds of salmon this weekend and Dan finally caught his first king. So you fedex some crawfish and we'll send salmon:) I have so much to update on the blog, but finding the time appears to be impossible. We miss Exuma!!!

P.S. - Your Island babies are super cute.

ewwww! They look like big bugs!! I'm sure they were very tasty, though. Good luck getting adjusted to having friends close by. It certainly brings a new dynamic to the kids. :)

Congrats Dallas - nice catch!!! The boys are so cute checking out the fish - a poke and jab seems to work!!! Emit is so adorable on the boat - is he using a sippy cut now, or is that a bottle? WAR EAGLE baby :0) I will be praying for the new energy level the neighbors will bring - it will have pros and cons that's for sure... Thanks for including us in the busy week ;0)

Love ya lots
