"We have a 'walking' child roll the 'dang' camera!" -Chandler, Friends
I can't believe this little guys is already walking. It is only one month faster than Joss, but in baby time that seems like such a big difference.
Before I forget, we got to see Andrew when we were up in Bama too. He's both of the boys' Godfather! This was his first time meeting Emit, and I think the boys were pretty smitten from the start. Joss was sure to point out all his favorite parts in "My Little Pony". He kept calling Andrew, Jeremy which we thought was pretty funny since he barely said Jeremy's name when we were actually around them. I can't believe I didn't get any good pictures of Joss & Emit meeting their cousin, Mason for the first time. And his Momma is the photographer in the family--- we both dropped the ball that day and were distracted playing catch-up I guess.
The boys have seemed very excited to be back in their comfort zone. Emit has been flying around the place holding on to things, so I'm sure now that he has a few steps under his belt he'll be zipping around unassisted in no time.
One of our first nights back Joss woke up with a very scared cry, so I went in to check on him. He was saying, "some-pin scare you" and "scarys in room". I thought for sure I was going to find a bug or gecko (they are all over right now) somewhere near him or something...but nothing was there. So now, he knows he gets a reaction and he'll get close to me and say "scarys get you" and I'll play along with him and then he'll reply with a really sweet "aaaaawwwww." He knows my heartstrings and plays them very well!
Look who got his summer haircut :)
We went kayaking last week with Elliott (Dallas' youngest brother) and his wife Erin and a group of friends they brought down. We went to our number one destination for day paddles, Moriah Cay. We took some sit-on-top kayaks this time instead of our decked kayaks (that you get inside of), so the boys had a little more freedom...which made me nervous. Joss was not happy on the way out until he was sitting up in front of me right in front of Emit. This was the best angle I could get at the time of the two of them sitting in the middle of my legs at the front of the kayak.
Along with things being "whoa, KOOOL" to Joss right now this is one of his favorite little dialogs with me:
"Hi, Mommy. What doin?"
I'll respond with whatever I'm doing (i.e. washing dishes, folding clothes, playing with the boys, etc)
"Havin fun, mom?"
"I'm having fun, Joss, are you?"
"Yeah!"
A little afternoon shower
Emit I think has finally learned that sand does NOT taste good. He still gets a little in his mouth, but he doesn't shovel handfuls into it everytime he gets in the sand anymore. I used to have a onesie for Joss that said "Caution Will Eat Sand" and I misplaced it somewhere... man could I have used that with this guy for sure!
Elliott & Erin on a perfect day in the boat: started out in the harbour and immediately came across 2 dolphins, then we found the starfish for the classic photo opps; a fairly short wait for lunch at Chat-n-Chill followed by the crystal clear blue hole snorkel stop; next we made our way to the southern tip of the harbor to snorkel at a great reef, and ended the day on the water with a pit stop at the beautiful sand bar! Absolutely perfect weather and beautiful water all day-- can't ask for more than that.
Joss swimming with his starfish.
Joss feeding the fish at the reef with Daddy!
Emit striking a pose at the beach :) And dangling here in the water.
Emit knows how to play his little games with me already too :) He'll intentionally go up near the tv and dvd players and stuff to hear me said, "ah, ah, ah...no, Emit!" For some reason he finds it hilarious.
Best Buds!
Joss has asked for and played with his Quiet Book almost everyday since we've been home. I think he likes it :) I can't wait to find the time to add some more pages. I'm just giving him time to master these before we move on. There's a page with their names that he can match the colors and letters to, a page with their names and the letters button on top of each other (tricky for him but he likes it), the Noah's Ark has a zipper and in the boat is a bunch of animals that we have to make sure get in the boat safely before the rain comes, and then the train page has a little hook for him to hook the "tra-way" on the engine and slide it up and down the track. When he accomplishes something he'll shout "YOU DID IT!!" (from his book The Potty Train) and say "Momma kiss", because I've made a really huge deal out of it each time he's been able to do the buttons or something on his own. He gets sooo proud of himself :) I just love making a big fuss over it.
Joss is my super picky eater. Emit on the other hand finally figured out how to swallow and hasn't stopped begging for food since :) He'll want anything at all we are having. He's doing really well with little crackers and things like that, but one of his favorites is by far chewing on an apple. He doesn't really eat too much of it yet, but he loves trying to. He gets sooo excited and starts making his little "I'm really excited because I know you're going to give me some of that aren't you!aren't you??" pleading noise.
Okay, I'm out of uploaded pictures for now so I'm going to bed. It's 1:11am... what am I doing?? I have plenty more stories I'll share soon!

So many beautiful pictures and cute sweet stories... I know it's easier to have Joss shaved, but he looks so much older when it is - I love his "out-of-control" hair :0)

You know, your camera takes pretty good pictures as it is. What kind do you have now?
Thanks Erika. I use my point and shoot Canon Cybershot right now. We have a water casing for it too that we use.
