In case you couldn't tell, I have changed our layout here. Hopefully it is still easy to read and find things. I have a LONG list of things to-do this summer while Dallas can help out a little more with the boys. This was one of the first things I wanted to do (this isn't work...I'm just easing myself back into it after a couple weeks off).
We have had some visitors this past week, so I'm still trying to catch up on my posts from the last few weeks. This should be the last one with the exception of the wedding post which will come when I can get my hands on some good pictures :)
One of my BIG projects that will take me a while to finish is the boy's Quiet Book. I have officially started it though. I wanted to get a few pages finished before our trip so I could give it a try on the airplane and in the ariport. It worked for a few minutes here and there (as much as it can for a 2 year old I guess).
His favorite pages are the train and Noah's Ark. These are my favs too. The name pages didn't turn out quite like I had in mind, but they still work. I'm going to be adding a lot more pages as I find the time with little quiet activities :) I bought some fabric while we were away for my final cover, so it will be exciting to see the final project.
Do you remember me telling you about our flight with our friend, Peter, from Georgetown to Nassau? Well, We were all supposed to fly with him, but Dallas accidently left one of our bags sitting at home (pretty much the most essential overnighter too) and the other guy that was flying with us was on a very tight time schedule. SO, me and the boys flew with Peter and Dallas had to catch a commercial flight. I would have stayed too, but we would have been crazy to pass up two free flights (me & Joss).
So, me and the boys load up in the back seat of Peter's tiny airplane without Daddy :( I was a little nervous since I didn't really know how the boys were going to react to the small plane, but the ride was very smooth and the boys did GREAT!
This shot of them sitting in my lap is pretty much the way they looked for the whole hour and a half flight. Joss didn't move a muscle hardly and Emit fell asleep on Joss' shoulder. It was so sweet! The view was incredible. This is us leaving the tip of Great Exuma and flying over Dallas' Office :) Don't you just love all the shades of blues, greens, aquas, etc.
Do you remember the little puppy video we posted? Here's just a few more snaps from that afternoon of running around with the puppy over at Ben's house.
Joss got to go bowling for the first time while we were in Nassau too. Aren't his little shoes adorable? He got very excited when the kids in the lane next to us would bowl too. We were in this really really nice bowling alley that just opened last summer (right after we left from our stay to have Emit). He has asked to go "boh-wing" many times since this outting.
Emit definitely had the hardest time sleeping and resting on the trip, but when he would finally give in to his tiredness it looked something like this :) OR he would be laying over his own lap...
Joss found this little lego train to play with at Nana & Papa's house and he was all set :) I just loved these flowers here on their front porch.
No matter how hard I try to travel light... it's just not possible these days. This was on our way UP too, before we did any shopping. Now granted we have a few empty bags that have more bags in them and such, but we still have to carry a lot of stuff when we're going away. People please hear me on this... traveling is not easy... traveling with children is much harder, be patient when you see folks with little kids. They are probably having a pretty stressful day. And our boys did really well with all the chaos around them, but a routine travel day turns in to a very long and taxing day with little ones in tow. Lord, please let someone donate us a pilot and plane that can take us back and forth to the places we need to go. (Is that asking too much?) :)
I hope you like the new layout and the BIG pics :) I sure do!
