Emit had a fun little birthday in my book. He loved his little birthday banner and kept trying to pull it down :) I finally let him have at it after the party.
My mom and dad arrived just a little before the party started, and they weren't given much time to settle before the boys were demanding their attention..."Come play in room, CC! Chase me, Poppy!" Joss is definitely at an age where he wants to show all our visitors each and every toy he has.
For the party I decided to go with an "animal" theme. Nothing too fancy and we kept the party simple, but I figured I could have fun doing some animal cookies, and I did :) Below you'll see the card Joss helped me make for Emit. We did it pretty quick, but I think Joss did really well :) This is also Emit's little cake (mini-cupcake) and his special cookie (don't worry he only had a couple bites of the cookie).
He was having a ball with the balloons. For some reason all of my pictures on this last batch just didn't turn out that great, so bare with me. Dallas took the camera for the party because I just didn't want to have to worry about taking pictures and doing the other stuff. Not that I blame Dallas, because some of the shots I took just didn't turn out either...I like OUTSIDE shots down here... the lighting is always great :) You still get an idea of the birthday though.
Emit didn't quite know what to think with the candle. About the time he went to reach for the flame we blew it out really quickly. I love how it just has him captivated here though.
I think it's safe to say that he enjoyed his little treats.
After the "cake" we had a little finger-painting fun. I found a cool recipe for some homemade finger-paint and it turned out pretty well. The boys (mine and Ann Ligon's) had fun making a mess. They each had their own poster board to create their own work of art... by the end I think everyone's poster was covered by everyone else's paint and they kind of made this big slip and slide.

After the paint we all headed down to the beach for some fun in the water. It was fun having a nice big crowd to celebrate our Little Man's special day. Thank you guys for sharing in the fun with us!
We've been having a great week with my folks so far...so more fun to come!

This party was a blast - Tamara you made it so colorful and fun for all the boys :0) Emit was a perfect little birthday boy - his excitement was obvious with every balloon, smile, "dat, dat!" and each bite he took of his cupcake and COOKIE... He was the most adorable thing there, but the cookies were sooooooooo yummy!!! Thanks for waiting on us for the celebration - it was wonderful :0)
