Our week with CC & Poppy got off to a great start with Emit's birthday. We definitely had lots of fun. Joss kept running around looking for more presents to open because they brought Emit (and Joss) lots of Birthday Goodies :) That's what Grandparents are for, huh!
We spent many hours just hanging out and letting them enjoy the boys on their normal routines. And then we got to spend some extra time on the boat or at the beach, which is almost always guaranteed to be a great time. Especially when you have gorgeous weather like we had all week.
It's always nice for mommy to have a couple extra sets of hands around to help out. I even got in a few pictures with the boys this week. I think you can tell by most of my pictures that I do not get all gussied up...this is me at this stage though, so I'll take it :)
Poppy was Emit's little buddy, of course, but I think CC & Poppy both got a fair share of time with both of the boys.
Dallas enjoys letting the boys be boys...even if mommy has a "cringing" look on her face behind the camera.
CC & her boys!
Our attempt at a Family Pic. I love the boys' expressions, but of course we have little water spots.
More fun with Emit & Poppy. My folks got a kick out of all of Emit's little noises. He's so close to trying out words and is really pretty entertaining. He gets so excited when a song or movie comes on that he likes... he'll get up close and ready to dance to the music. I'm so glad that saw him at this stage because he really is a lot of fun right now. It is really hard for us to believe that when we moved back down to Exuma Joss was younger than Emit is now. And this next year (of Joss' life anyway) is going to be full of even more changes for Emit than this first one was.
Joss was constantly wanting to be chased. "Chase me, CC". But then she would start chasing him and he would come running to me. Then he would want me to pick him up and then he would say "Run, Mommy, Run!" We did this once or twice, but at one point I ended up running around with two of them in my arms while CC chased us: Workout for the day...Check :)
Along with all the new toys came new games to create and have fun with. This one was Jumble Bowling :) Joss loves this game now.
This one below is for you, Aunt Bev!! We wish you could have been here (and Uncle Kevin, of course) too!
Joss got super excited when he was bowling!
We went to a beach that we don't go to a lot, but it is beautiful. It was just a fun little change of pace from our beach and gave the boys some new territory to discover.
The waves were a little bigger and the water a bit deeper, so they had a fun little time playing in the waves. I was trying to get good shots of them playing, but every time they would all be looking or going up on the wave, I would be going down and getting covered by the next one. It was funny at least and we were all having a good time.
Poppy, I LOVE this picture of you. This is a genuine happy smile on your face!
Joss was feeling like a big boy sitting high up in a tree. I remember a time when I was a little older than Joss is now. I begged my dad to put me up in a BIG tree in our yard. After begging and pleading for a long time, he finally sat me up in the tree. The second he let go of me I started crying like crazy and screaming for him to get me down...I'm glad Joss didn't do this :) He was a brave little man.
We walked down the beach a bit to the big rocks we could explore and climb on. While up there we found this hole. It was pretty cool! There was a little hole that the water would splash through when the waves would hit like a little blow hole, and then it would fill with water and run out again. Joss made the sand into a little slide into the hole.
As you can see... we've had a lot of fun this week. There's still more to come!
