I'm spacing out the pictures from the week my folks were here to share a few random little things :) Back when Hurricane Earl was brewing just off our coasts', we took Dallas' folks for a little kayak in the tried-and-true Moriah Cay Land & Sea Park. It's sheltered and very protected from the rough winds, and zigzags all along beautiful mangroves.
When we got to the beach on the oceanside, there were some great waves to ride. I stayed back to take the pictures, but Dallas had fun. Shortly after this picture was taken, he came and tackled me into to next big wave :) Don't worry, Nana & Papa were holding the boys.
I've got a few videos to share on this one, and they are all EMIT! I know I put a lot of Joss on here, and with Emit being the not too distant Birthday Boy, I'll let this post be his for the taking with the videos :)
Joss loves having Emit as a car seat buddy now that he's in the bigger car seat. And Emit rarely complains riding next to Joss. Our infant carrier couldn't fit in the back seat, so unfortunately that was in the front seat in between us in our truck. I'm relieved to have him in the back seat, but it makes me sick to see how folks ride with their babies in cars down here. I saw one mom strap a baby (much younger than Emit) in a seatbelt in the front passenger seat. The baby couldn't even sit up on her own. And to make matters worse... we couldn't even sell our old one at a yard sale the other weekend (for really cheap). ANYWAY...

Remember the chasing game I mentioned before (at least I think I did) with the boys running around the island in the kitchen catching each other and laughing. Joss loves to get Emit to "push" him and Emit obviously enjoys it too. Well, here's a shot of it in action :) Sorry Erika... I know you said you like babies in just diapers sometimes (LOL) I can't seem to get my kids to want to wear anything else down here... luckily we don't encounter too many folks.
Emit seems to be much more attached to his pacy than Joss ever was, but I still see some pictures of Joss with his pacy at this age too, so I'm not too worried. I nearly laughed out loud the other morning (early morning) when Emit woke up afraid or upset about something. I wish I had it on video... it was the funniest thing. He was sitting up in a solid crying fit and I went in to calm him down...the second I placed the pacy back in his mouth he just went limp and fell back onto his pillow. I sat there for a second trying to make sure he hadn't passed out or something, but he just went right back to sleep. Oh yeah, I also want to remind myself of this...On the morning of Emit's birthday, I went in to check on him for another morning waking like this. He was cutting a new tooth and was not feeling very well at all, so I picked him up to get a little snuggle time in and try to comfort him. I pulled him really close to give him one of those really nice squeezes with a soft kiss (you momma's know what I'm talking about) and as I was turning to go to the rocker I glanced over at the clock. The time was the exact time (down to the minute) that Emit was born :) I got a huge smile on my face and thought it was a sweet way to start our birthday celebration!
This video shows one sure-fire way I can keep Emit happy and entertained while getting his diaper changed. Sorry for my loud voice...I was having fun too!

He is definitely one MESSY eater. I love it though because he really enjoys exploring his food. It makes for one heck of a cleanup (for him, his chair and the floor) though. My mother-in-law kept saying stuff like, "you know, I think this cover can go in the washing machine...it would get some of that food out of there." And chances are I had just washed it in there the day before. He's my little piggy, and I LOVE him for it.
The boys next door made a ramp for their bikes in the driveway between our houses the other day. Side note--I'm not ready for this stage just yet!! Joss had a lot of fun watching them jump their bikes off it, and had even more fun jumping off of it too :) He felt like such a big boy and was being so good to wait his turn.
Dallas and Joel volunteered to take all the boys out on the boat one day. I would have gone with them but I needed to get the cookies for Emit's b-day and some cleaning done. Plus, they were trying to give the Momma's some much needed alone time that morning. My mom of course gasped when I told her that the Dad's took all the boys, but they did great!! And Dallas even took some pictures since he knew I would want to see the fun. I can trust my man with my little men. He's a terrific Daddy! Thanks for the help my love. Looks like the boys had a great time.
Joss always comes home excited to tell me what they did. Even if it's just a drive to Smitty's, which is about a mile away. Emit comes waddling to me the second his little feet hit the floor saying "mommmm mommm mom moma", so that makes me think he's happy to see momma too!
Last for now is this little video of Emit watching his e-card on his birthday from CC & Poppy. Poppy, this one is for you (my dad was walking around all week speaking "Emit" while they were here).
Stay-tuned for more CC & Poppy pics :)

Awwwwwwwww, my goodness - I love Emit watching his card... I feel so blessed to have been with him playing "peek-a-boo", cleaning up after a meal and enjoying some of those WONDERFUL "kiss-kisses" too!!!
Joss is so precious holding on behind you while kayaking and him jumping is hilarious ;0)
I so loooooooovvvvvvvvveeeee your boys!!!
They are getting too big too fast! I love and miss you guys so much!
Hahaha! I think you get a free pass on the diaper thing, practically living at the beach and all. :)
I love the kissing video. :) So cute!
oh I loved seeing more little Emit's personality in this one. His little jibber jabber is SO sweet. And that paragraph with the two stories (the pacy and his birth time) made me get so teary eyed. Such precious mommy times with him for you to remember.
xoxo
