Boys, Toys & Super Heroes

I love seeing my boys playing with their little cars, trucks, trains and planes. Emit already makes a little vrum, vrum sound for them when he's holding them and runs them up and around my legs, neck, chest...anywhere that they can roll on :)
Every now and then when we take toys to the beach they don't always come home :( Joss is sooo good at keeping track of his toys so he knows and remembers each one that gets lost. We've lost a little "Nemo" fish (go figure) and a dump truck toy got washed away one day without us even realizing it until it was too late. The boys next door have this Mac truck (from the movie Cars) and Joss just loves it. He's always asking to play with Mac. Well the other day Mac got lost at sea when Hagen threw him overboard while they were out on the boat. So I told Joss that Mac was out looking for Nemo and his dump truck.
His response to that was "You did it, Mac! You found 'em!" Or "we better go look for him!" So every time we go out on the boat or down to the beach, we're looking for our toys.
Speaking of Cars, Joss is back on that movie again. He loves the part that we call "Mac's song" when Mac is driving across the country to the song "Life is a Highway" by Rascal Flats. That song is also on Rock Band and Joss has been asking to play Mac's song a lot lately. He has actually started singing along with it too which is sooo cute. I'm trying to get a good video clip of it.. but it's proving harder than I thought. And of course Emit dances right along with his little moves.
They love these little cars (below) right now. They were some we got for Emit's b-day from Melissa & Doug. They are nice and sturdy toys :)
Joss and I tried weaving a little bridge the other day.
Look at how dirty they both are (and get every day)!
Joss is getting better and better with the potty training. It still confuses him when he has a layer of any kind on, so we let him run around inside naked a lot because he'll use the potty if he's naked... but he'll use his diaper if he's wearing one. I love him in his "big boy undies", I can't wait for him to be wearing these all the time-- so cute!
We've been having lots of fun on the slide lately. Unfortunately, it was pretty old and worn when we got it, so it doesn't hold the air that well and rips really easily. We had a bunch of the kids playing on it the other day...
and now it's really not holding air well, so I don't know how much we're going to get to play on it any more. We'll have to work on getting another one for the boys.
I am so excited....my mom and dad are paying for me and the boys to fly back to Bama over Thanksgiving! Unfortunately, Dallas can't come with us, but he's a good man and letting us go anyway (I love that man!). It's a very humbling thing to accept handouts and money from your parent's when you're a "Grown Up" (which I still don't feel like I am). I'm sure there's many folks out there (some are probably reading this) that would like to give us 'lessons in finances' and yadda yadda yadda. Bottom line is we are so thankful to have loving and supportive families that help us when we need it. We aren't rich by society's standards with the money status, but we are filthy rich with our blessings (love, health, happiness, and so much more) from above. THANKS MOM & DAD!!!!! We can't wait!
We had fun yesterday going to a house that our friends Katie & Ze are house-sitting. It's a beautiful home owned by a very prominent family on the island. The boys had fun exploring new territory.
Their home is great and feels like a real family actually live in it... not just a fancy home where you can't do anything. Their view is looking out at Stocking Island and Elizabeth Harbor and the surrounding waters... awesome! Joss had a lot of fun on this wrap-around porch.
The upstairs was a big open loft area which was really cool for the boys to run around and jump and play :)
They had a blast climbing up and down the spiral stairs (with mommy hot on their trails of course).
Sorry this one is a little blurry...
We also played a little Rock Band (with Mac's song of course) and then had a wonderful meal (YUMMY)!! Great friends, great food, great fun!
We're getting started on our super hero fun and pretend play in costumes :) Here's Joss' first cape. I just made it yesterday. We were watching Super Why? and the Super Readers and thought Joss could join them if he had his own cape :)
Of course I can't get Joss to wear it yet... but Emit really likes it. Joss gets a little jealous when Emit has it on because he knows I made it for him...looks like I'm gonna have to get Emit's made really soon!
Here Dallas is showing the boys how a super hero shows off his cape :)

Dallas flies to Nassau today to house-sit and help run the swimming program for his parents while they are visiting the rest of the family in the states. We'll miss him, but it's easier on all of us for me and the boys to stay here. We just took the WorldCat down to get the new engines installed this morning YAY!!!!!! Hopefully this time next week we'll be taking her for a test drive with our friend, John C.

They are ALL boy and it shows in their expressions and activities... Love the cape and gotta love Emit's confidence to strut around in it - Dallas looks pretty cute too!!! I'm so proud of Joss overcoming his fear of the slide ;0) He's cute as can be in his "big boy" underpants - good job Jossy!

Big hugs and lots of kisses - can't wait to have you here with us - 37 days to go!!! Mom
