Weekend Rundown

I guess I am a weekend blogger these days :) It isn't like our daily routine really changes that much from day to day right now, but I don't feel guilty on the weekends using time to update the blog like I would during the "work week". I should look at it as a job though because I think my mom, dad & sis would all be pretty mad if I didn't keep this going :) (Bev... time to reciprocate sis... you're a married woman now, I KNOW you've got some stuff to talk about on your blog, and fun pics to share--you two have been going non-stop since June 11th) :)
Everyone stateside is bragging about their fall weather, and all I can say is just wait until late January/February.... who's gonna be making who jealous then?? (wink wink) Any of you that know me know that I love FALL (I can't think of too many people that don't though). I think it's more than just the weather though that gets me homesick for the states this time of year. I think it's just being on the island and it being sooo quiet all summer and then by time we get here, toward the end, I just feel extremely isolated from EVERYONE like I've been in quarantine or something. It really starts to make you stir crazy to get off the rock.
Lately it has felt like the only communication I have with anyone is following their blogs or seeing what folks post on Facebook. I hate it. I MISS letters/emails. When I was an army brat moving all over the country I always had my pen-pals. Some of those folks I still keep up with today, and I cherish those friendships!! Erika, you are by far the best and longest lasting one :)
I'm not asking for pity emails here, I'm just putting my feelings out here. Things get so busy for everyone, and it's just sad when things that we consider to be so important always seem to take the back-burner. I'm coming out of my slump for sure. I read something one day this last week that has really helped for this round, and my focus has been redirected once again :)
The summer time seems to have one project after another after another (or maybe that's just life/owning a business and the summer is the only time we have to do them).
One of my projects was to sew the boys' Christmas stockings. I ordered the fabric last year, and it just wasn't as cute as I had remembered it when I took it out to make them. I figure these will last for a couple years and then I can make them some "big boy" one's that will last longer and be more to my liking. For my first stockings, I think they turned out Okay though. Joss was super excited because it was a new "present". He definitely learned that word while CC & Poppy were here on their last visit :)
Dallas' project (on top of the WorldCat repairs) is getting ready to repaint our entire fleet of sailboats :) We are excited to see them looking pretty for this next season.

This week was HUGE for us. We put the order in for our new engines on the "new" boat. We've been over there, or at least Dallas has, almost everyday doing some final minor repairs on the Worldcat getting her ready for the trip to get the engines on so we'll be all set when they are installed, about 2-3 weeks we were told.
Pretty exciting stuff for us!! And for anybody that visits, trust me. John C., we're hoping you're our good luck charm and that they'll be ready for you. I get really nervous because it's another loan to pay off, but the Lord has his hands on the situation, and that I do have peace with.
Next time you see the boys on the boat, hopefully it will be a much more exciting view :)

Little Man Emit....he is my tosser. He tosses his juice, toys, and anything he's holding on to. I'm pretty sure Joss did this a lot too. However, Emit seems to LOVE throwing things in the toilet a lot more than Joss ever did. If he gets half a chance he's throwing his toys in there and then looks in and says "Uh Ohhhhhh!"
He's also learned how to take his diaper off. Every now and then he'll run into his room real quick and come right back out stark naked! It looks really cute, but I'm not ready to let him run around commando just yet.
Snarf (one of our cats) had this little critter in his mouth playing with him the other day, and Joss was very excited to hold it. He kept saying, "Let go, Daddy, I hold it myself". Mr. Independent! He's also learned the phrase "Leave me alone!" which I really don't like. I'm trying to explain to him that it hurts our feelings when he says that and I make a sad face at him. His reply is usually, "Don't cry, Mommy, don't cry."
Yep-- he wanted to let it play in his shirt. Welcome to a house full of boys, mom! Don't you just love our pile of dirty clothes in this shot....
We've had a lot of rain and lots of wind this last week. More than we even had with the hurricanes. As a result we've had a lot of power outages too. We finally got our AC fixed on the truck. Turned out that the problem wasn't a $1,000 repair... but only a $25!!!! YEAH!! It's still not completely fixed, but it's a lot better than nothing when it's raining, so long story a little shorter... we went for a couple RIDES this week while it was raining and the power was out.
The boys don't seem to mind riding as long as we have somewhere fun we're going.... and sometimes that's kind of hard to have down here. But the airport is always a hit... so this was them right after that run :)
Now that Emit is more and more mobile and Joss has some friends living next door, we spend most of our days playing outside. It's routine for us to come straight in and go right to the tub after getting sweaty, muddy, dirty, and all around filthy, but that's the fun part about being a kid, right?
Joss loves this little truck (above). He's taking a load of wood to the sawmill and some rocks to the quarry (like on Mighty Machines). Okay, so I helped a little with that, but he loved the idea and was driving it all over the place.
This is Joss' "Favorite Tree" (I'm pretty sure I've mentioned this before). It's a little hangout spot for all the kiddos. Notice Emit's wet britches?? (yep, I used the word britches... for my Bama roots)
 "How you doin'?!"
The "owweee's" seem to always be present in one form or another... just can't keep them from all the little bumps and bruises. Joss loves it when we kiss his "owee's" though, and he'll make sure we get it at the right spot. What torture huh, just kissing all over until we get the right spot! :)
We had a fun little photo session yesterday morning. We needed some good family pics for a Hall of Fame thing for Dallas' dad. I went out with Joss before to find some good spots with lighting that worked well. I got a couple cute shots of him "posing" for me. Most of them turned out like this one below because we used the timer and tripod and Emit kept pointing at the light blinking for the timer :) ... I love Joss' smile in this one though, so sweet!
I think this one here is our 'best' one overall though. The boys were so sweet for me. Considering I'm not a pro and we had the camera propped up on a timer... I think they turned out pretty well!
Well, I've typed enough for now. The power has gone out on me twice during my attempt to get this posted. Dinner is on the stove simmering, so I'm gonna wrap this up and publish it while I can. Hope you don't mind that all my posts are LONG and have lots of pics. I guess if you did you wouldn't be here, but I enjoy sending these out..makes me feel connected.

love the family pics, and Dallas and Joss' matching haircuts! :) So many things here to comment on...Joss with the snake in his shirt is SO cute! Emit squatting down to play: ADORABLE! It reminds me of when Joss would sit like that. I can't believe how fast they are growing!
Don't forget that WE love the blog too!

These blogs can never be too long - we appreciate all your effort and hard work to include us in your daily activities and wonderful antics! A snake, oh my gosh, Joss are you kidding me!?!? Emit is literally growing with each snap shot - he is so adorable walking, leaning, squatting and strutting around in his shoes - such a big boy :0) LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the stockings - great job Mom and obviously Jossy thinks so as well!!! I really enjoy the photos of the boys playing with their toys - Joss and his truck loaded down is precious and Emit having no problem using his skills on the play station... Their every smile is adorable - great family photo ;0)
Hugs and prayers, Mom
