Bundling Up and Staying warm in Bama (Batch #3)

As you can tell from the hats it got a little cool while we were over there. My mom and dad were enjoying the weather very much, and at one point my mom said, "It's not cold, I feel great!" To which I had to remind here that it was COLD to us :) I have become quite the sissy to cold weather. I've mentioned on Facebook lately that we've had a cold front coming through... lows are in the 60's (maybe high 50's) at our coldest times of day, and I'm bundled in my sweatshirt and pants and still feel cold right now. We've been sleeping great at night with the windows open though!
Anyway...back to our Bama trip. My little guys prefer to be exploring outside or doing something cool inside, and in their minds shopping with mommy is not a fun time. My mom and dad watched the boys a couple days while I went out to do some shopping. And most days it was a long outing.
Every time I can back to the boys after any period of time apart Joss would act like I have been gone for days filling me in on all the fun stuff he'd be up to. He'd say things like "It's nice to see you Mommy!" "Gone shopping?" "It's okay, you don't have to cry!" (when I'd tell him I missed him). He even said all this to me one time when I was on the computer for about 15 minutes and not in the same room as him.
My folks got a kick out of how Joss calls me "Mommy". It usually comes out sounding something like "Mom-eye". I hadn't really thought too much of how he says it before they were mimicking him... but it's cute! I used to always call my dad "Diddi", so maybe the "Mom-eye" will stick around...my own little nickname from Joss.
Joss' thing right now is to go around saying, "What's my name? What's your name, Mom-eye? What's daddy's name? What's Emit's name?" He gets so excited when I answer him and he'll look around the room to find someone or thing like Hippo, Mack and Monkey to get us to say their names too. I think maybe he's just understanding what the word "name" means and wants to show us how he knows how to use it. He gets really excited when I tell him "you're so smart, do you know that?" And of course, he always knows!
This picture about have Joss in my sweatshirt :) I was afraid his layers weren't enough...and the one below they are catching each other on the slide. I just LOVE to see them play together (not fight, but play). It is sooo sweet!

Another one of Joss' sayings this trip was "watch the agining again?" which means that he wants to watch the open song of the cartoon again (and again, and again). It was nice have a DVR for this (no, we don't have luxury items like that in Exuma...not really a priority, and it costs way too much down here).
See their beautiful play area when they are at CC & Poppy's house! We all love playing down here and exploring the yard. FYI-- This is the BIG GREEN SLIDE in Joss world :)
I love this little man :) He is so cute with his ears. They (and his pacy right now) are like a little security blanket for him. He'll hold them a lot when he's getting sleepy, but he's always got one hand on his ears it seems. Early on it's hard to tell if he has an earache or not, but he never shows any other symptoms, so I just think he really likes his ears.
This was the first day that I had to put their hats on them. Emit had a slight panic attack when he couldn't touch his ears. He had two layers between his fingers and their best friends and did not like it when he couldn't touch them. When I took his fingers and tucked them under his hat so he could touch his ears he had a little sigh of relief as if to say, "thank goodness, I thought I'd lost them forever!"
Little Emit had a lot of fun learning to slide too. He always wants to get a jump start at the top, so we have to keep a very close watch on him up there...but his smile and expression going down the slide is priceless.
Poppy showing the boys the ropes!
Emit is actually talking a bit these days. While we were on the trip he was saying things like 'dinx' (thanks), 'cacka' (cracker), 'moo' (moon), 'chews' (shoes), and 'chewce' (juice). Now to some of you without kids that may not look like talking to you, but it's a pretty did deal when the little ones start saying things and talking to you. I love being able to communicate with them and know they understand.
Joss has told me many times, "I like living at CC's house and Bev's place" (and yes, in those words). I know that makes my mom and sis happy to hear, but he is still saying it, so you guys are still fresh on his little heart :)
I love this picture of Emit holding my dad's finger. This one turned out with a little more noise/fuzz in it than I prefer, but I still like it :)
Yes, of course mommy got to play on the Big Green Slide some too!
It's 1:13am...I think I'm going to bed :) Love you all!!!
Happy Holidays
