Before I get too long into this post, I feel I should mention that I watched a good Hallmark Hall of Fame movie. So, if I get a little too sappy or emotional, that's probably why :) Dallas is out on a trip right now, so it's 'ladies night' at the movies!
We had an exciting addition added to the neighborhood this week. Some of our neighbors bought these speed bumps after our neighbor's dog was killed by a car. This little street we live on is not 'dangerous' by any means. And the families that live here are so wonderful. However, there are a few folks that live just past our little place down the dirt road and they just refuse to slow their butt's down on this road. Everyday they drive past kids and dogs and people and they just don't care. I swear this one lady (the one that hit the dog actually) speeds up when she's sees everyone out in the driveways and yards. It infuriates me. We have talked to her several times. I just wish these speed bumps were right in front of our house, but I will take them--no matter where they are.
The boys had so much fun this morning playing on the 'bump bumps'. We even got to see a few cars go over said 'bump bumps' and let me tell you... that was EXCITING :)
Joss has started playing his first board game...CANDYLAND!! He LOVES it. He is actually catching on really well and likes the little gingerbread people that you play with. They come along to play outside of the game a lot. I am getting sooooo excited about homeschooling these guys. I am actually getting ready to place my order for the Preschool curriculum this week and do it with him over the next 2 years or so. My next BIG project, which will probably take me the next two years to afford and to do, is going to be something like this for us to do our school lessons in: Schoolhouse Playhouse I can just picture us all getting ready for school in the mornings and walking out to our little classroom and having such a fun day!
My boys are true boys through and through. Meaning they get excited at burps and poots (as I call them) :) I'm sure Liz is dieing at the thought of me mentioning this on here, Bev, but hopefully she'll get a kick out of it. I'm working on teaching them to cover their mouths, say "Excuse me" and little polite things like that when these 'funny' little things slip out. Well, Joss is catching on, but he still gets a huge kick out of doing both of them. In his words he'll say, "AHa, I just went pooted!"
Emit is trying to pick up the mouth covering and saying "excuse me" habit. I think he associates it with a lot more than burping though. He definitely knows to use it when he burps. But if he drops anything or bumps in to something or trips over something (in addition to actually burping) he'll throw his hand over his entire face almost and say "oh, burp" and laugh. I have to try to get it on video, because this description doesn't do it justice, but it is really cute.
Melt my heart--I just love it when Joss grabs my hands and tells me "I'll keep you safe, mom" when he's leading me over the bumpy rocks or down the steep slope or anything that he sees as being dangerous. My brave little man of the house.
In this picture above Joss is giving his Rock Friends a hug. We carried them down the trail and threw them in the big hole so they could be in there with their family and friends (all his little imagination there.. not mine).
Hippo has learned to sit up in the window and watch us play outside when 'he doesn't feel like getting dirty' or when Joss wants to ride his bike and needs to hold on with both hands. He won't let me tie Hippo up on the front of his bike because "Hippo doesn't like that". Here Joss is showing him his broken shoe and telling him all about what happened since it was on the other side of the house and he didn't see it. Again, all his imagination :)
With potty training comes the smell of pee...EVERYWHERE in my bathroom and sometimes in other unwanted places. Joss definitely likes to run around with his bottom half naked, and I believe that is just because it is easier. He has less accidents that way for sure. He still doesn't quite ride the 'potty train all throughout the night', but it is sooo nice having him potty trained during the day at least. We just have to work on his aim and focus :) Emit sees him and starts yelling "peeeee, peeeeeee". His is going to be a lot quicker and easier I'll bet.
Emit's adorable little lips above are saying "JUICE". Whenever he wants some or is really excited that he just got some (like above) he'll pucker up and start saying "juice, juice, juice" over and over. It is so stinking cute.
I love hearing him say "mommy" too. His and Joss' way of saying it sound totally different. I just love them both to pieces! Below he is saying juice for me again :)
This morning at LifeChurch the lesson was about FEAR. Something Pastor Craig mentioned hit home with me today. He said: "What we fear the most reveals where we trust God the least." It is so true. It is also so scary to turn over those fears, and I'm not really sure I know how just yet, but I want to. It's not fun living worrying about your children and what may or may not happen to your husband or your family. I can't being to relay the message the same way my pastor did, but if this hits home with you at all, check out the message. It's "I QUIT...FEAR".
Until next time...love to all!

Awe! So sweet! I can't wait to see you all. Love you so much! Great pics as always.
T.T. you're adorable! And such a good mommy. And the word "poot" is the cutest word I've ever heard for it.
You're right though: when those boys grow up and have their stunning good looks, AND manners, why- you'll be the proudest mamma around.
Keep up the good work!
Love you!!
Hey, can I get some "juice" kisses - such sweet lips!!! I continue to envy the attention Hippo gets and really think its evident that Jossy has a sweet nature... Their smiles and actions are all so precious ;0)
LOVE,LOVE,LOVE the speed bumps - I bet the neighbors didn't expect them to be such a hit with the boys! That was very nice of them - hope having a reminder will help the heavy footed dirt road neighbors!?
Keep safe - love ya, Mom
No matter the age, it seems we always struggle with fear for our families... Glad to hear you are looking to God for strength :0)
Did you watch The Last Valentine? I had a good cry at the end... Love like that is SPECIAL!!!
With love,
Mom
