I may have a bit of a lull in new photos right now just because so many other things are demanding my time, but I definitely do not have a shortage of stories or little things the boys are doing or saying. This photo below is of one of our newly restored/renovated sail boats (boat #2 of 5 completed so far). I LOVE how this one turned out. The color, the logo, the finishing touches that only Dallas and I will probably recognize, but it really turned out great!

Joss is cracking us up on a daily basis with is little sayings :) And I know I've said that before...but it just never stops. When he's trying to explain something to me and it final clicks I usually say something like "Oh, I gotcha, I gotcha" (which in mine and Dallas' little world is a quote from Little Mermaid). So lately, when I'm asking him or telling him something, his way of showing me that he understands is to say, "Oh, I forgot-chu, I forgot-chu!" :) I get a kick out of it every time he says it!

When we are outside playing both of the boys like for me to say "On your mark, get set, go!" when they are running around or riding their bikes or doing something along those lines. And I can't say it once for the both of them. If I say it, Joss usually takes off right away, but Emit stands there saying "GO? GO?" as if to say, 'You didn't say Go for me, mom!'
Emit's sentences these days look something like this: "Ruck....GO??....They Are!" Meaning: Where did the truck go? There it is! If we are driving down the road he is just going non-stop saying things and trying out words. And the second he stops, Joss starts in. It's somewhat exhausting carrying on conversations with these little dudes sometimes. Especially, when I'm the only one talking to them (when Daddy isn't around) and I have to answer every question or comment about something before they move on to the next thing. Mommy's brain gets very tired at times. I'm going to be in trouble when they start asking me real questions and the "but why, mom" questions kick in.
Unfortunately, I am starting to understand Dallas' obsession (at times) with the X-box and his video games. For him that is a hobby and he can earn gamer points and achievements that make him better and harder to beat in the gaming world. It's also something he can do to just escape sometimes and do something that he enjoys. I've found that enjoyment in woodworking (in case you haven't realized by now). I like planning for the next project, sometimes before I'm even finished with the current one. I recently finished this little side table that I did thinking it would be 1) a quick and easy project and 2) something we needed since I just asked our landlord to pick up lots of furniture they supplied us with and our end tables were part of that. It was fairly easy, but I was a little unsure of a few things like how to "attach piece 1 to piece 2" without leaving ugly marks since I knew I wanted to stain it...but in the end I was very pleased with the final result. Thanks to Ana-White.com once again for great plans! My next project is about 3/4 complete :)

Emit's playing with a "ribbit" (toy frog) below :) He always helps pick up toys as long as I make it sound like a game. If he has a container or somewhere to toss the toys in he gets really excited about it. He'll look around for "Mow-whee" (more) toys and see if he can pick them all up for me. Granted this doesn't ALWAYS work...but more times that not.

He is so funny when we are watching tv and a show comes on that has a crying baby or kid in it. He'll turn to look at me and throw his head back and make a pretend crying sound and squint his little eyes closed until I grab him up and tell him it's okay and give him lots of kisses. Not that I mind the extra kisses and cuddles one bit, it's just funny to me.

Joss has been all about his trains lately! They go everywhere with us right now. I have a little storage container that he carries them around in when we go in the truck and he'll always say "Mommy, do you have my tainer?" He is sooo funny with the way you can play with them too. Certain cars have to be paired up with certain engines and they have to go in the right order or it just won't do. Sometimes after I put them on the table he'll tell me "No, it doesn't go that way, mom."

Part of our routine at night, especially when it is just me with the boys and trying to get them ready for bed by myself, is to listen to a book my mom got them at Christmas. It is a book that she recorded her voice on and they can turn the pages and hear her reading to them. We have to have bright light on to read that one, so it is like a signal for getting ready to ready bedtime stories and they will flip through it while we are getting pj's on and things situated to read. Joss has started reciting it with her and the little extra sounds she's added like a "drip, drip, drip" on the rainy page or the "Goodnight Jossy, Goodnight Emit!" at the end of it. Emit laughs at those little parts, but Joss actually says them. CC, I think this little story will mean a lot to you :)

The last one for today is one that I hope no one finds inappropriate. But this is my blog/memory keeper... so I don't want to forget this :) When I'm trying to get Joss to try new foods I'll often tell him, "You need to try this. It is good for you and will make you big and strong like Daddy!" So, when Daddy came home from his trip the other night Joss was trying to catch him up on every little thing as usual. It was around dinner time and I asked Joss to come and get some dinner. He starting saying, "So I can grow big and strong like you Daddy! And so I can have a long pee pee and nice teeth like you too!" LOL!!! We died laughing. I asked Dallas if that could make the blog and he said NO right away, but then I talked him in to it :)
Hope you enjoyed the stories!

Ok, after the final story, and laughing so hard, my brain went blank... Oh my goodness - the things they say!!! I love that Emit is using his words and being so expressive with them, he's very cute in the basket and so sweet to help you pick things up :0) Jossy is adorable on the swing - such a happy boy! I'm VERY glad they like the book I recorded for them - this is the first I've heard of them enjoying it - YEAH!!!! I can't wait to read to them for real - 6 more days :0)
Sending love, hugs, kisses and prayers - CC
Hahaha! Nice. Kids are so funny! Emit is talking a lot! Luke doesn't say quite as much but he signs a ton.
I love the book read by grandma idea. We'll have to look into getting one from our grandmas. :)
And I totally get the brain being tired from so much chattering. Luckily, Valery is much quieter than Lydia. Lydia chats nonstop from the minute she wakes up to the minute she goes to bed. It's a constant, "Mom? Did you know?" Sometimes I have to ask her to stop saying my name! Haha!
I am DIEING after that last story!! I can't wait for Jeremy to get back to tell him!! SOOO funny! I'm so glad you shared it on here so we can get a good laugh too. And sweet Emit, I could just scoop him up and smother him with kisses. He just gets cuter and cuter every single day!!!!! I LOVE the pictures of him in this post.
