Hello faithful blog buddies :) My computer has been placed on the back-burner this week. Every time I sit down at it there seems to be bad news waiting or something stressful that takes my focus. We've been placing large orders for work, and Dallas is getting ready to head over to Florida to put some stuff on the boat to be shipped over, so I've also been doing a lot of shopping.
(Joss loves to stop and read the sign to us now, every time we pass it!)
It's official... I have a serious LOVE/HATE relationship with shopping. I love shopping and finding good deals, and of course it is fun to get some new things, but I hate spending money. I hate the way you feel immediately after you purchase something...the guilt, the feeling like, maybe I should have looked harder for a better deal, maybe I shouldn't have bought that at all... etc. I'm convinced that if you never experience these feelings you make enough money so that shopping (little or big) is not a big deal for you. I do not like having to shop like a Bahamian...all at once, once or twice a year. It is so stressful for me. But anyway--you don't check this blog to hear about stuff like that. You want to hear about and see my sweet boys, right!? :)
Joss has been cracking us up lately with some of the things he says. Usually when he wakes up (in the morning or at nap time) he starts blurting out "It's day time!" The other morning when they woke up he started telling Emit "You call Mommy, I call Daddy!" and when Emit would say "Daddy" Joss would say, "No, you're not a big boy. I'm a big boy. I call Daddy!!" And that's been the routine every morning since :) Dallas was doing a run to Staniel Cay on Saturday. The boys and I stayed behind because 1) the weather was a bit on the rough side and 2) I had to play apartment maid and turn the apartment over for the guests coming back with Dallas. Anyway.. when Dallas got back he asked Joss, "Were you boys good for mommy today?" after a short pause Joss replied very matter-of-factly "Nope, we drive her crazy." We died laughing at that one! I will take full credit that he has heard me say "You guys are driving me crazy!" a time or two... but that particular day they only drove me crazy a few minutes :)
Remember those little boys "poots" I was telling you about? Well, as I said before, we're trying to work on their manners when the little slips happen. A long time ago Dallas taught Joss to say "hello!!" whenever he pooted. Well, that one is coming back to haunt me now. I told Joss the other day that he needs to say excuse me, and he said, "No, Daddy just says 'Hello'". How do I reason with that?? :)
Joss likes to use his imagination a lot, and I think he's starting to grasp what that actually is. If he says something like "Bullseye is playing with me, mom!" and I get all excited and say something like, 'oh wow.. what are you playing?' He'll tell me "I'm just a-tendin' (pretending) and using my magi-nate (imagination), Mom!" I love it!! It's going to be soooo fun hearing all the adventures his 'magi-nate' takes him on.
Little Man Emit is growing by the minute. His hair is growing too, and getting so blonde. I swear these sweet boys belong to me and Dallas! He's so cute pointing out his eyes, nose, ears, belly, belly-button, mouth, etc. If I am anywhere on the ground he has to be sitting or climbing right on top of me. He gets the funniest look in his eyes when he's coming at me too.
In this picture above, Emit was so proud he put his dump truck on the rock! Emit's little thing lately has been running around asking us to "pix" (fix) the toys or anything he thinks might be broken. He'll keep repeating it until we at least attempt to "pix" the broken item.
He's cutting four teeth at once right now, and after that I think he will pretty much have all of his teeth in. It's pretty miserable for him at night though. Plus on top of that they both have the sniffles a little too. I don't think it's anything too serious though because they aren't showing any other signs of anything.
I told Joss the other morning when he woke up that he was a little "stuffed up" (meaning he was congested). Later that night I asked him if he would like to take a little medicine for me and he said "Yeah, I'm all SPIFFED up, mom!" LOL, I'm telling you... it's non-stop comments like that these days :) Final Joss-ism for this post...He really likes reading our Curious George stories, and if any of you have read these stories you know they all start out with the same couple lines. Joss has learned to say it for me. "This is George. George is a good little monkey, and always very curious!" He gets so excited when I pause after saying "This is George" so he can finish the rest of the sentence for me. His way of saying 'curious' is pretty cute!
Emit has started this little game of 'peek-a-boo' the last couple of weeks. You see him above doing his hands... He gets such a kick out of playing this with me. If I hide behind a book or tree or anything blocking our view of each other and then pop out he starts laughing so much. He's also started ducking his head down completely and then slowly moving his head up until our eyes meet... it melts my heart every time he does this one. It is sooo cute! I can't ever get the timing right to get it on video though, so I'm not sure I'll get it, but I'll keep trying.
It is hard for me to believe that Emit is already outgrowing most of his 'baby' clothes. When did this little guy grow so much? I was in the baby section at the food store this morning kind of sad that I really didn't need much in that area anymore. But you know, it wasn't the feeling like, we need another baby so we can use this stuff, it was just the 'man, I can't believe my BABY has outgrown all of this.' I can only imagine what I will be feeling 5-10-15 years down the road.
My reading bug has caught me again :) I found a good book that really grabbed me the other day, and that's all I want to do during nap times and the hours before I go to bed. It is nice to be out of the 'newborn' sleeping stage, so I can actually stay awake long enough to enjoy a couple chapters before bed. So, I'm off to indulge myself with a couple chapters! Until next time...

Yeahhhhhhhhhhhh, I love new blogs!!! They grow and change from week to week and I'm so grateful for the stories, pictures and involvement you allow us :0) I can't wait to hear their new comments and watch them at play with the tricks and imaginations...
Shopping the way you do will never be easy, but try to make the most of it.
Love to all ---
Your boys are so incredibly handsome! :) Thanks for sharing about life in your part of the world!!
It's so neat to hear about Emit's stages. They're so like Margot's... even though they're worlds apart.
Lately, Margot is REALLY into shoes and socks. She'll keep saying Shoes, shoes, shoes, shoes... until you put some shoes on her. -Which are NOT sandals, let me tell you (here in Washington in the winter). Anyway, she's totally convinced one must wear shoes when one is dressed.
I wonder where she gets these quirky little ideas?!
