My Lovely Valentine's

Luckily one thing Dallas and I agree is on is that Valentine's Day is not worth all the headache and hassle that it seems to bring. We keep it very low-key and try not to stress about it. As we see it... it is more fun and important to show each other how much we mean to each other everyday of the year and not just one specific day. It is fun to send little valentine's, so I'm not trying to be a 'love scrooge' or anything, but we don't get all worked up over it. Our big plans for tonight include renting a little chick flick on iTunes and relaxing. Which after the last couple weeks we've had, SOUNDS GREAT!!
The boys and I had a really great week together while Daddy was out. We seem to have the same chaotic moments each day, but other than those we had a lot of fun moments just playing around and working outside. I had my big plans for some spring cleaning this week. It seems when you do big cleaning like this you make more of a mess to clean up along the way, but I was proud of some of the stuff I was able to get done.
Whenever Dallas is out on a trip I like to use his coffee cup in the mornings just to feel like Daddy is with us. The boys notice this every morning. Even Emit has started saying things like "Daddy-juice" and pointing to the cup. Joss will remind me "Mommy, that's Daddy's cup, not yours." I tell him that Daddy is sharing his cup with me so that we feel like he is with us. I ask him if that's okay and he then gives me permission to use it after all.
This little move of Joss' above is him showing me his booty. He started doing this little move a couple weeks ago and does it all the time now. He really likes to do it when he's running around naked! For some reason it is the funniest thing to him.
Emit's first time swinging on the tire swing on his own. Well, kind of swinging... it was mostly just them sitting there so Emit wouldn't fall, but he sat there like a big boy and help on tight for me.
Emit has been running around since Dallas left saying "Dah-deee Baahhhh-cckkk!?!?!" (Daddy back) all week. The first day or so it was kind of a whining way of saying it and then it was just kind of matter of fact like "I want Daddy to come back, now!"
When Joss does any kind of trick or stunt that he is particularly proud of he will ask me, "Did you sawed that, Mom??!!" And then he's ask me if he's a big boy because of what he did. Which he almost always is :) He's also started asking me if he's handsome too because I say that to him a lot also. In case you can't tell...this little man talks ALL day long. There is a constant dialog back and forth between us. It's quite exhausting some days, and always entertaining.
As Joss would say if he saw his picture above, "I'm smi-when!" (smiling)
I think you know what Emit is asking for above by now :) "JUICE!"
They got this little pool to play with this last week since they were being such good boys for mommy! It's not as good as the beach, but it is a nice alternative when I need to stick close to home.
Joss has had fun "doah-ving" (diving) in it :)
A very sweet part of my days has become nap time. Most days I either lay down in there with them or sit in the chair in their room while they fall asleep. It helps to keep them calm and go to sleep instead of staying up and playing with each other. Which makes everyone's 'nap time' run smoother. Some days I'll fall asleep and end up staying in there for a while :) but most days I take the iTouch and read or check messages or something while I'm sitting in there. It is such a sweet time though to be in there and watch them fall asleep.
After my little Book Fair splurge the other day I realized that we had out grown their little book case we built a long time ago (well before I met my new friend Ana White) for the boys. And I found some plans of hers for these cute little shelves. Her plans were for a couple long shelves to make a photo gallery (which I think I may do later actually), but I just needed something smaller to fit in their corner to hold a couple more books for now.
So this is my first "Made from Scraps" project :) I was so happy because it only took me about 20 minutes to assemble these little shelves and they fit perfectly where I needed them to go.
I'm pretty sure I've mentioned how I used to always tell my daddy "I love you from da sky to da moon!" when I was little and now Joss has learned that and added his own twist by saying "From da sky to da moon and back again!" Well, now it has become a trip that we are getting ready to take :) I'll say something like, "Do you know how much we love you little guy?" and he'll say "Sky to da moon and back again! And mommy, and daddy, and Joss and Emit can come!" He's thrown something in there about us having to wait for the fire and then we can go, but I'm still trying to figure that one out. It probably has something to do with the fire part in Toy Story 3 (which is his favorite right now). Emit's is still Cars. He will plead for "Mc-Keen" (Lighting McQueen) whenever we go to pick out our movie. Don't worry... he gets to pick sometimes too :)
Last week we called on our brother-in-law, Kevin, to help us out last minute on the trip Dallas went on. Dallas was SO happy he was able to come and really enjoyed the one on one time with him, usually they have to put up with us women folk around :) Kevin, he loved talking sports, music, movies, Simpsons...all that fun stuff with you on the trip. And he was so relieved with all the help you gave! We'll definitely get you down on another one when you work up some leave time. But next time Bev needs to come and play with me and the boys while you guys are out having fun, deal!?
The boys weren't giving Daddy & Kevin much space the night they got back from the trip. I don't think Uncle Kevin minded too much, do you??
Lots more stories to come. These little guys keep 'em coming for sure!!

Love your book shelves - they add charm to the room! Uncle Kevin seemed quite content and Emit looked joyous to have him as a play buddy!
