Water World-Part 1

We've been having a lot of fun in the water lately! With company around we spend a lot of extra time in the boat and at the beach. Plus it is full-on summer mode around here too, so that brings on extra beach time too. Joss has finally discovered the fun in wearing goggles to look at stuff under water. He's doing so well with it too, and is holding his breath longer and longer to look at stuff. Emit likes to wear them above the water, but he's not quite ready to take a look under...we'll get there though.
Below is little man Mason, Jeremy (Dallas' brother) & Heather's little dude. It's been a lot of fun with the trio of boys this week. They all love the water, just like their daddies (and mommies) do!
Emit loves to try to catch the birds and crabs and any little crawling critters. Every time he spots them he'll say, "touch bird, touch him" and go chasing after them. Hasn't caught them yet... but he's a determined little guy and won't give up.
Joss is getting better with his photos :) This shot of Emit below was one that he got on the boat the other day!
Jumping off the boat (of one kind or another) has been a daily thing :)
We have been getting lots of fun time in with the turtles at our beach. They love squid, and will let us pet them like crazy when they are getting treats :) You'll see more shots below of this cool 'backyard adventure'.
We had to relocate the sailboat the other day for a rental that was going out, so we decided to all go for a sail and have a little fun with it. Well, about 15 minutes into our sail the rain came down, once again. Luckily there was no thunder or lightning this time. Just hard raindrops and wind...however, I will say that it looks a lot more windy in this photo below than it was.
Joss had his goggles on to keep the rain out of his eyes, and Emit got my shades :) It's one of the very few times in Exuma that you get 'cold' is when it's rainy and you can't get in the water. The boys (all three of them) were such good troopers though. They got very excited when we got close enough to see the land (and it had stopped raining by then). We had to tack (turn through the wind) the boat one last time right next to the shore where we could see our truck, which means we turned away and were heading out to the harbor instead of just pulling up to the land right by the truck. We had a spot we had to get it to, but the boys weren't so happy when they saw us going away from the truck again. Emit started saying, "not that way, not that way....that way" and pointing at the truck. Once I told him, we're turning so that we can go park over beside the truck, he gave me his standard response of "okay" and seemed to be pleased with the situation a lot more. Smart little boogers!!!
The docks where we swim to play with the turtles off our beach is also home to these little crabs. Every time we swim near the docks we have to go and try to catch the crabs and play with them for a minute. You can see how tiny they are in the photo on the left... you can just barely see the crab on the post.
Almost without fail, every time I catch a crab and go to hand it to Emit, or every time he starts floating toward them, he starts saying, "crap (that's how he says crab), ski-air (scare) me, crap ski-air me". He has a real love/hate relationship with these things :)
I love being in the water and touching things, especially fish and things that are alive. And we are entering a really fun time with the boys where they like to touch things and see things too. And, cue Aladdin's "Whole New World" song :)
See what I mean about the turtles :) They have been up close and personal... and no, this photo was not on zoom at all. They kept coming up and bumping my camera to see if it was something to nibble on. I didn't mind as long as they stayed away from the fingers and toys (especially all the little ones).
I love this one below with the reflection off the water. Such cool little sea creatures!
We were very careful of the little fingers, I promise.
Such a fun thing to be able to do in the open waters.
Stay tuned... lots more fun and fish to come :)

Wow! What fun times in the water. I wish I were there playing. It seems like all I've done this summer is be sick. The turtle shots are really cool! Joss is so big jumping out of the boat and swimming. Emit being afraid of the "crap" is too cute. Can't wAit to see you guys! Love ya!
