Meet Big Tuna!

A few weeks after our kitties got killed, we had a little visitor turn up. He was scrawny and super friendly, so we fed him some tuna. We didn't have anymore cat food so he got fed tuna quite a bit those first few days. We, being The Office fans that we are, decided to call him Big Tuna :) It is so cute to hear the boys call him that.
Now, back to my random little stories that are from my sticky notes :) We have entered the "WHY" stage with full force the past couple weeks. With Emit he's all the time saying things like "I sad, mom" and I'll say, "why are you sad, baby?" and then he answers, "Buh-cuz, Mom." Nothing more from him on that...just "Buh-cuz, Mom."
Joss on the other hand is doing all the asking, for everything. And I don't want to just brush them off. I know they are trying to learn and at a very curious age, so I'm trying to be honest and talk straight with them as much as possible (or as much as I know myself) :) So when Joss asks me 'Why?' I will answer it as far as I know and then I'll finally get to, "Because that's how God made it/them." Usually that is satisfying enough for him and he's content with that.
I'm constantly asking the boys to help me with things. "Can you bring me your juice cup? Can you take this book back to your room? Can you go pee pee in the potty?" and 98% of the time the boys both respond with "Yeah, sure can!" It is so funny how they pick up on things that we say and we don't even realize we say them until we hear them repeating them all the time.
These days they say "kuh-jamas" for pajamas and "alligator" for gatorade. They say all sorts of funny things, but these two are some of my favs right now :)
We hung up our own little tire swing the other day so we don't have to always fight with the boys next door to play on theirs. Joss LOVES it. Emit likes it in short bursts.
A couple weeks ago we were reading one of our stories from our "Jesus Book" also known as their storybook bible. It was a story about how we are never alone and how God is always with us because He lives in our heart. I was explaining it (or trying to) to the boys during our story time. I told them that God lives in our hearts and Joss said, "why, cuz I ate him?" I thought it was so sweet, but then I also thought....how is it is so hard to explain things to them, BUT we make it hard. God asks us to have childlike faith and just believe in Him, and they do. They just accept the fact that God loves them and dwells in their hearts without even really knowing what that means. I envy that faith and trust, and I love seeing it through their little eyes at times!
They have been carrying their 'Jesus book' all over the place. Their favorite stories right now are about Daniel and the lions, Jonah and the whale, and the parting of the Red Sea. It had been a couple weeks (after our trip to Bama) since we had really read some of the stories and Joss starting asking me for a story. He was saying things like, "I wanna read the one with Jonah and the big fish that put him in his belly and God said 'Go to Nineveh!' Can we read that?" I was amazed that he remembered all the little details.
Random little story about me :) I was cleaning up my woodworking area on the porch one day which always has little crawlies in it. I was already 'on-guard' for something creepy to find its way to my path when I found a dead tarantula under a piece of wood. I got a little spooked when I first saw it, but as I bent down to inspect it a little closer, the water hose burst (which was a few inches from my face at the time). I quietly freaked out and all I could say was, "oh, oh, oh, ohhhhhh!" It was nap time after all, so somehow I remained quiet in my panic :) Dallas was impressed!
One of the boys' favorite places to play is in the back of the truck :)
Joss was in a super good mood for photos this day!
Most days I LOVE our little homeschool routine. Some days is it a bit of a struggle if we aren't doing the things Joss really wants to do. I made the mistake one day of saying, "Are you ready to move on to our next activity?" Well, from that day on if we're doing something that he doesn't really want to do he'll say, "I'm ready to move to our next tact-tivity". There's never a dull moment with these guys, that's for sure.
Emit is officially potty training!!! He has been for a while now. He still has accidents, which are no fun, but I figure they make it all worth it in the end. He's doing really well as long as he runs around naked in the house :) I love seeing his naked little tush running around. He looks so tiny standing on his stool by the potty. Man, I can't believe the days of no diapers are in sight :)
I guess there is no such thing as a short post from me anymore :)
The boys are anxiously awaiting their visit with CC tomorrow, or today actually. It is 2:00am right now. Don't ask me why I'm still up...guess my afternoon coffee really kicked in. I've started working on their Halloween costumes... I think they're gonna be cute :) They are already excited about them and they aren't even close to being finished! I'm sure I'll be on here again soon.
