Last week my mom flew down for a couple of days to get her Joss & Emit fix to tie her over until Christmas. She came at a great time when I had a bunch of projects going on that I was trying to make some head way on. Although I have a feeling if she were around all the time I would always find something I could be working on. That's life, right!? :) Anyway-- Joss (and mommy) wanted to give CC a fun greeting at the airport. It is the Halloween season after all.
Joss wasn't super crazy about it once we started putting his old pirate costume on, but once we got to the airport and everyone was making a big deal about him being so stinking cute, I think he sort of liked it.
I did tell him that as soon as CC got here and he gave her a big hug he could take his costume off. Soon as we got to the truck he was asking to take some of it off. I'm pretty sure it was hot and itchy, but he was a good sport.
I don't know who had more fun on CC's quick visit, her or the boys! They were all worn out by the end of the time and in need of some rest. I'll put a few more pics from her trip up later... tonight is just for Halloween stuff :) This year the boys got to go as their favorite trains (and the trains are best friends), Thomas & Percy.
It was a lot of fun building up their anticipation and seeing the costumes come together. The first night when I just had one big box with a hole in it I let them run around and play with them to try them out a bit and they got so excited (it was just the box with a hole...nothing else). :) I knew we were gonna have a hit when the finished product.
So what if the trains looked like they were climbing a hill the whole night and the boys needed a hand to be able to walk straight with them... it was totally worth it, and a big hit with them.
Emit was SO good the whole time we were out trick or treating. He had been whiny all day, so I didn't really know what to expect, but he was such a trooper. And isn't he an adorable Percy :)
Our crew this year was two Lego men, Percy, Thomas and Batman! I'm proud of our DIY costumes :) I think we did pretty good this time around.
Emit was a bit hesitant to jump in the crowd. Joss was a seasoned pro this year and knew the routine. Emit was so precious waiting until everyone had a turn then very shyly making his way toward the candy stash and softly saying, "Trick-uh cheat" then of course "tank oo" (thank you).
I'm so proud of the boys when they are out like this... they did very well and were very polite, once again! Way to go guys, mommy and daddy are very proud of our little Choo Choo's :)
Coming in for his turn. By the way... he would not let go of his candy bag. No matter how heavy it got (at one point it was practically dragging the ground), he kept saying, "I cun do it, mom!"
Joss' costume tuned out to be a lot heavier than I would have liked (rookie mistake), so he pretty much ran from house to house while Daddy carried his costume and then he slipped it on right before we went up to the door.
Emit walked with his almost the entire time. His wasn't as heavy, but it was still a little back heavy, so I walked behind him to balance it out for him. He didn't want me to carry his candy or his costume...such a big boy :)
Our little street is very small, as you've probably heard me mention. Heck, our entire island isn't THAT big :) We have some great families surrounding us though and they were all stocked and ready for the boys this year. Perfect little circuit too and a great amount of candy for these little guys!
The boys got to enjoy a couple goodies in their stash before baths and story time. Surprisingly it didn't take them very long to fall asleep. Between CC wearing them out and all the excitement around Halloween they fell asleep quick and easy tonight!
Happy Halloween from 'Sweet Breeze' in Exuma!
