We've had very few boring moments these days with these little guys. At least we don't feel very bored. They may feel differently, but it feels like our days are non stop activity...times two!
With our weather finally started to cool off a bit from the squelching summer heat, we've been able to spend lots of time outdoors and resuming our running around at full speed.
I love how these guys can turn anything at all into a playground. For instance, a boat trailer, kayaks, a tree, an inner tube on the porch, etc.
"I LOVE YOU!!!!"
And you too :)
Ha ha, I just love this little silly face from Emit.
Joss looks like such a little man in this shot below. Where does the time go?
They love to sit right next to each other and 'read' stories. Joss asks Emit to get all the books and Emit runs all over the house collecting the books they want to read for the moment and then Joss 'reads' the stories to him. It is so funny to hear the boys say things to each other that they have heard us say. I've hear Joss tell Emit, "Pay attention to me" when he's helping him put his shoes on. And I've also heard Emit tell Joss, "Don't be rude!" if he says something in a not-so-nice way. :)
Joss is doing FANTASTIC in his school work. Heather (my sis-in-law) suggested that I scan in some of his artwork to share on here.... and I'm definitely going to do that. It will be so fun to see it progress over time, and also a great little keepsake when I get the books for the blog printed out.
He was obsessed with glue glitter a couple weeks ago so we made a couple of these things...some little glitter jars that I saw on Pinterest. They were called 'time out' jars on there, but we don't use them for that. The boys just love to shake them up and watch them. And we had a lot of fun pouring all the ingredients in there.
Also above is our prayer sticks. Joss helped me decorate them and then I wrote the names on the back for our family members and friends. At the end of our school session each morning we draw a stick out of the pile and pray over them. If nothing else it is helping me to remember to pray for our family and friends when things get busy and we get distracted.
We've had a couple really fun and relaxing afternoons at the beach lately. Actually, they are usually really good when we go to the beach. They've had a blast digging around with these measuring cups and spoons.
I love these little dudes!
Emit being silly and digging like a dog... watch out now! You don't want to be behind him when he gets going or else you may just get caked with sand.
Their little table has been a perfect little area for them to have. We have fun making lots of messes there, but at least they have a space that is theirs to do just that.
Super Emit has been making a few appearances around these parts lately :)
Homeschooling is a lot of fun! I find it challenging on some days to just get a good routine in order so that we get it in at the right time of day and not just trying to squeeze it in and mark it off the list. I keep trying to figure out a way to get my classroom space built, and I haven't quite figured it out, but I'm still holding out hope for it!
Joss was working on memorizing Little Jack Horner a few weeks ago. It was so cute because he kept saying, "he put in his thumb, and he pulled it out, and said...I'm a good boy!"
We spent a couple days in Nassau and Dallas helped work with the swimming stuff for a few days. Nana was very impressed with Joss' swimming (of course, we have been impressed with it for a while now)!
The boys were so cute after the trips to the pool. It was 'cooler' that week with lots of rainy weather. Nana brought out the hot cocoa after our swims and they thought that was really great! It cracks me up to think we can actually get chilly in temps below the 80's sometimes, but I guess that what happens to you when you live here all the time.
Joss has been saying that his ears are turned off a lot lately. He'll ask me to turn them back on and I'll do this little thing to his ears to act like I'm turning them on. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I'm hoping it isn't anything I need to take him to the doctor for. I'll ask him if they hurt and he says no, so I don't really know.
They loved checking out the turtle pond at Grandma's (Dallas' grandmother) house. Nana kept catching the turtles and putting them on the rocks and then they would scurry down into the water quickly which the boys thought was really cool.
I love their little adventurous natures and how everything is exciting and something to explore. Next we headed to the Nassau Zoo. It was actually a pretty fun outing. There were lots of birds, and considering the boys love of the movie Rio these days, the birds were a huge hit!
This was a good bird, unlike the character in the movie :)
Emit wanted kisses from the bird, but he was still a little hesitant :)
Lots more zoo pics to come...stay tuned!

They are too cute for words!
Oh my goodness, they are like little models... I LOVE the one with them in matching swim trunks and Emit digging in the sand...
I can hear them having fun, working, playing and just relaxing!
THANK YOU for all the post and pictures to keep us up to date...
Glad Nana is more comfortable touching the critters, because CC isn't as brave!
