Sweet Home Alabama--Post #2

Lots more fun was had on Pleasant Valley Road than I can even capture in a few photos. These guys play NON-STOP so being at CC & Poppy's (especially on days they were off of work) was just another day at the park for them. It was such a nice break from the muggy and buggy days that we played outside almost all day long.
Bev told me a cute little story with Joss and an orange that she was sharing with him. She asked him what it was, and he said it was an orange. She said, "well, how do you know it's an orange?" He thought for a second and said, "Because it tastes like one!" :) We all got a little kick out of that. Not anything to do with the color or anything like that.. just matter of fact, because it tastes like one, duh!
When we got hot and sweaty in our outdoor adventures, we played in the newest addition to their fun haven....a pool :) This thing is the perfect size for these little guys. Emit could touch, so he was acting like a big boy and didn't want anything to do with his wings. He was a little kangaroo in the pool the whole time just jumping up and down the whole time. I'm amazed they didn't just fall asleep in the tub each night. More pool fun (and pics) to come...

Dallas and I really wanted to go back and see Auburn (where we both went to school and met, and where we were living when we had Joss) for a few days on this visit. We haven't been back in a couple years and it was really fun being there with our kiddos. Most of the folks we hung out with in school have left and moved on, but we got to spend some time with some dear friends, Dallas' brother, Elliott, and his wife, Erin.
WAR EAGLE BABY!!!!! What a crazy, but very cool feeling to walk around our college campus with our kids. We had to take the boys in front of Samford Hall (the building below). It's a very iconic building on campus. It was also the building I had my first student-worker job in. Met some dear friends in that job, and that's where I was working when Dallas and I first started dating :) Fun times down memory lane at times like these.
We also wanted to get some pictures of the boys with the Toomer's Oak Trees. Not sure if they will survive or how much longer they will be there, but at least we got a quick little shot in there. It was a crazy moment at the time, so I didn't get a really good shot of the guys and the tree...but we know where and what it is.
The boys had more fun jumping over the drain in the grass than anything on campus... but I think they liked hanging out a bit anyway. We pushed them all over campus in the stroller and had them keeping an eye out for Aubie...now that would have been awesome! We were there for the hustle and bustle of the first day of fall semester classes getting underway. Again, brought back some fun memories. Lots has changed, but a lot is still the same. Ahh, the Loveliest Village on the Plains :)
We ended the day with some bowling with Elliott and our friend Ben, and then had a really nice dinner at Elliott and Erin's place. We stayed the night with The Foshee's, some really dear friends to us and our Auburn experience, but you'll see them in the next post :) That's all for tonight!
