Dallas let me come home a couple days before he and the boys did from Nassau. I think it was 2.5 days total. It felt like a long time for sure and really weird to be in the house without the boys or Dallas (that's NEVER happened). I came home early to get started on some custom woodwork pieces for some folks (my first official order) and to get some work done around the house that I just needed to get done. Of course, I worked my tail off and still didn't get everything finished, but I was very happy to be reunited with all my guys :)
Joss has been asking us almost everyday, "Is it December yet?" He's very excited for his birthday to get here and for Christmas :) He keeps saying things like, "I so excited for the presents!" Emit hears 'presents' and starts saying, "where presents, wwwhheeerrrrrre?"
They like to wear their goggles in the tub these days and look at each other under the water :) I have some cute little naked tush shots of them doing that.. I'll save those for my collection though!
Super Joss & Super Emit are on the prowl...searching for toys in need :) And helping mommy work on a Christmas project for them... HOPEFULLY!!
Recently Netflix has opened up to the Bahamas. The streaming online anyway. Dallas and I have completely gotten hooked on Castle and habitually watch a little almost every night :) At least we were until just a few minutes ago... we are all caught up and waiting for the newest episode that comes on tonight--woo hoo!!
The 'funny' thing though it that due to our Caribbean location, there are a lot of random languages on the shows and movies that are available to us. It is definitely not the same selection as it is there in the US (but we aren't complaining too much). It's a fun treat for the boys to watch something a little different from time to time though, but the amount of cartoons in English seems to be even less. SO--this is a long way of saying the boys are hooked on the old Ducktales cartoon! Which is funny because I remember watching that as a kid. They run around singing "Ducktales a woooo wooooo!"
Joss loves being thrown in the water! As much as he loved 'flying' when he was little (when we would catch him), I think he likes this way even more :)
And might I proudly point out that I think P90X is working quite well on my hubby :) (insert whistle here)!
It's crazy to think we won't be spending as much time in the water soon. In the opposite season it always seems hard to imagine the days where we stay in the water all day long and then the days where it really does feel too cold to swim (at least to us locals).
The first couple of times of doing lessons with Joss with his schoolwork were pretty challenging to do if Emit was at the table with us. He's already improved so much on his own little participation. Joss feels really special when it is only him doing schoolwork and he usually does better for me then, so we try to do that as often as possible, but some days it just doesn't work out that way.
Emit is usually a good little sport for me if he has something to do with our lesson. Take this morning for instance, we were making our own little Humpty Dumpty eggs. They were hard boiled and the boys got to color on them. I let Joss do his by himself, and helped Emit with some eyes and a face on his. He was giggling and laughing so much and was definitely enjoying that activity :) And the one here with the glue glitter... they both LOVE glue glitter!
Emit is so funny with this little red bike. His legs can reach the pedals now, but he still won't actually sit and pedal it. He likes to push it everywhere instead. I'm really amazed he hasn't wiped out more than he has because he gets to going so fast and just looks like he is about to crash any second, meanwhile mommy is standing by sucking in her breath and trying to get out the words, "SLOW DOWN!"
Isn't he so cute in his little big boy pants! :) We get lots of jokes from our friends down here about them running around in their undies all the time. I guess it is funny, but I really don't mind. I don't let them run around naked outside, so as long as they are covered, mommy's cool. I choose my battles, and if they say they don't want clothes while running around out in the yard then so be it. Whenever we go to the beach or to the stores or something they put their clothes on without a fight. I figure it is a lot cooler for them and less laundry for me :)
Remember my little pirate that met CC at the airport before Halloween??
Our little airport is fun because we get to watch our folks walk off the plane. Joss was climbing all over the fence waiting for CC to poke herself out the door on the plane.
It always takes a few minutes to clear customs (which is nothing compared to the time it takes to clear in Atlanta), and the whole time we were waiting out there Joss was anxiously waiting and expecting CC to be the next one out the door. He loves to call out to her when she's inside still and the doors open. I don't think it is ever mistaken that he's calling for his "CC!!!!!!!!!!"
CC was here from a Wednesday through the following Sunday to get her fix with the boys and let me get some more work done. I really wish I could figure out a way to get to a 'caught up and go from there' kind of place, but that just doesn't seem possible. My list keeps growing and doesn't get crossed off quick enough. Some days this gets me stressed and overwhelmed, and others I can breath in a take it one step at a time.
I don't know who was more exhausted when CC left the boys on Sunday... her or my two dudes. They slept til 8:20am the next morning.... yeah, they were tired. They painted and colored and had a Halloween party and made cupcakes and read books and played trains and played on the beach and ran around outside and all sorts of fun things :)
My mom wasn't too thrilled when the boys caught the snake and wanted to hold it and play with it. It hung out here on this little rock for about a week and then I think it has finally decided to move on. I really think the only reason I don't get too freaked about snakes around here is because I know there aren't venomous snakes in the Bahamas. Also, I remember having some pet snakes in my 4th grade classroom that I used to think was pretty cool. Don't get me wrong, they aren't my choice of pet...but I tolerate them because my little dudes get so excited when Daddy brings one around.
We headed out for ice cream one afternoon and guess what the boys got to play on......{doot doot, Mighty Machines!}
They thought it was pretty cool! And it wasn't even turned on.
We got this toy for Joss when we were back in Bama recently that is a little excavator the beeps and lifts and lowers the bucket and makes all kinds of noise. When we were packing our bags we really were running low on space so we thought, 'hey, let's leave the loud obnoxious toy here and play with it when we come back.' Well, that worked for a couple days until Joss noticed that we brought the toy back that Emit got that same day, but not his excavator. :( Bad call mommy!
So, when we found out CC was coming before Christmas Joss got really excited and kept reminding her to bring his 'digger'. Emit was even saying things about "Joss eka-vador" (Joss' excavator) before it was all said and done. I think Joss was half expecting my mom to come walking off the airplane with the digger in hand, even though we had told him she packed it in her bag. No worries though, they are reunited and making all kind of noise together :)
