My sweet Joss turned 4 on the 21st! I can't believe his birthday and Christmas have already come and gone once again and it is almost a New Year. We got busy with the celebrations and then our internet has been down. We're up and running and it is time to share some of the fun we had :)
Our birthday tradition has molded itself into some sort of surprise waiting for them when they come out their room in the morning. We've done stars hanging from the ceiling, balloons all over the place and this time we did a homemade Angry Birds game :) Joss loved it, it was however a very noisy way to start the day with cans flying all over the place, but it was worth the giggles and the smiles that made our little man start his day off feeling special. We took him out for a BIG BOY lunch and he didn't want a hot dog this time. He wanted a burger all to himself. I think he really enjoyed feeling like a big boy eating at the restaurant. Especially since eating out really is a treat for all of us.
We did another train cake this year because he's been asking me for another train cake all year long and for one reason or another I kept putting it off (bad mommy). He loved the additions of the coal car and the caboose this year though. They had to try a bite off each piece just to see if the colors tasted different.
He also said he wanted the middle of the cake to be all different colors, so we did a little swirl mix inside.

I think he liked it and felt special with his cake. Emit's reaction to the cake was pretty good too with his "Oooohhhhhhoooooooooooo!" That little stinker spotted it hidden in the oven earlier that morning and called Joss in the kitchen all secretly saying, "Joss, hey Joss, come here...look look! PANCAKE!" and they were sitting with their little heads together peeking in the oven window. They got a little glimpse before I could shoo them away :) The rest of the day Emit kept saying he wanted Pancake!!
We waited for my mom and dad to arrive that afternoon to celebrate with the cake and presents. I still haven't found out how to be involved in the birthday and still capture the photos that I want... just isn't an easy thing, maybe before they are too old I'll figure out a way to get good photos on their b-days and Christmas.Another birthday tradition we are starting on their 4th Birthday is this little interview. I have the video below, but the questions and answers are here too :)
One of my favorite answers was the coolest person on earth and my best friend :) Sweet answers! If you want to see the answers as he said them you can watch this.
Happy Birthday Joss! We love you so much :)

It's hard to believe Joss is 4 years old, but in truth I can barely remember life without him.... What a blessing he is and what joy I get from being able to share moments of Jossy growing up! Love our Jossy, love being with him to celebrate such a special day....
