Bahamas Bliss

I don't always feel like I'm reaching my fullest potential as a mommy at times and then there are others when I feel, "hey...I'm not too bad after all!" Luckily, we have had a few more of the latter moments lately. When my boys are happy, I'm happy, when I'm happy, Daddy's happy, when we're all happy...well, it just doesn't get any better :)
Some days Joss just doesn't want to leave his daddy's side. He loves helping him and playing with him...whatever Daddy is doing, Joss wants to be doing. Emit still tends to pick Mommy, most of them time!
Lots of trips for Daddy means lots of playing at the bump slide for the boys. They never get tired of it. At least that is a nice reward they get for the long trek up the island we have to drive when we are towing gear or hauling people back and forth for kayaking and sailing trips.
I have come to the realization that my little guys don't really mind if their shoes match, or are on the right foot, or if their shorts match their shirt, or if they even have on more than just their big boy pants, so we just roll with whatever most days for clothes and outfits. I'm not fashionable, so I can't pretend with my boys. But I can have fun with them :)
Emit has gotten really good at smiling for me lately :)
We were just having a little fun at the bus stop one day and they never cease to amaze me how they can make ANYTHING fun and entertaining! I just love Joss' little grin at me here.
Heather, we tried your approach here with the "YELL" and then get the laughs after :) One thing they do really well these days is YELL!
At least Emit doesn't cry or get stressed when we try this one now... he just keeps yelling :)
I always laugh when I think about something my mother-in-law told me one day. She said she was bored, so she had babies. I still tell her she's crazy for that, and moments like this make me wonder how on earth she was ever bored when Dallas and Jeremy came along. But apparently she was bored enough to have April and Elliott later on... like I said, the woman is loco :)
Not a chance of boredom setting in with these handsome fellas!
Almost DAILY, we have our little dancing session around here, sometimes twice a day! Luckily they are about as critical of mommy's dance moves as they are their clothes :) As long as we shake our tushies and run around in circles I'm golden!
Emit's signature dance move is sticking one finger straight up in the air and tapping one foot, until he really gets going that is. Our favorite song these days is ONE WAY by Hillsong Kids. GREAT song, and they love it. The other day we were trying to get them up from their naps because we were afraid they were going to sleep too long so we turned their song on and turned it up a bit. Took Emit about 5 seconds to get out of bed and sleepily come out to see if he was missing out on the fun! Isn't he the cutest little cowboy?
The funnest part of the song has this part where they get down real low and then move up higher and higher and then dance around really fast. They call the 'fast' part as Going Crazy. So Emit will dance around the whole time asking, "Can I Go Crazy now?" I've got lots of videos...it is so cute :)
Joss and Emit are so funny with their cars these days. McQueen & Finn McMissle are the two cars that seem to be with them all day. They just carry them around and do everything with them. Joss even lets them help him with schoolwork :) He'll say, "It's McQueen's turn to tell you" or "Watch Finn do it."
They talk to each other through their cars when they are playing also. For instance Emit will say,  "Slow down Raul, I can't find you, 'said McQueen'." And Joss will reply, "I'm over here McQueen, 'said Raul'." I think it is so cute when they do it.
McQueen even likes to help Emit paint :)
I get a kick out of the expression on Joss' face below. He doesn't really LIKE getting his hands messy finger painting. He'd much rather use a brush. When he went to rub it off his hands and got it on his belly instead he thought it was...funny....no, messy....no, good....no, bad.... well, you can tell from his expression he's not really sure what he thinks about it :) He was dancing around in the hose moments after this asking me to wash it off of him.
Emit had no problem getting messy and wasn't in any hurry to wash it off.
The messier the better in his little mind :) Even McQueen agreed!
I couldn't resist snapping this one below of Emit. He tries to skip naps a lot more often these days. Some days it works, but others...
Having fun chasing curly tailed lizards on Stocking Island.
And time to BAKE with momma!!! Cutest kitchen helpers ever :)
This is one way we entertain ourselves when Daddy is out on trips!
They really did terrific helping me and following directions. We had read a CareBears book the night before during story time and they gave out cupcakes to each other and the boys went to bed dreaming about making cupcakes the next day. They did not let me forget it either!
Emit wanted green, Joss wanted blue....and they loved seeing the colors mix.
Watching them grow :) (if you notice they are in fact naked underneath their aprons). Joss also had fun telling me the numbers on the oven timer that were counting down.
Chef Boy Emit!!! I think he enjoyed the final product :)
Lastly for tonight, my 'green' project for the summer/rainy months is the yard! I desperately want grass for my little guys to play in instead of a heap of dirt. So, this my official BEFORE shot.... and it already looks a lot different :)
Until next time...

AWESOME, these are GREAT moments and pics... I love how story time remains such an important part of their routine. Working with daddy looks like fun! I'm so thrilled they have the wonderful bumpy slide :0) The adorable expressions and sweet smiles melt my heart...even the yells! Jossy looks like his Poppa Andy with his mismatched Crocs!!! Emit is my favorite little cowboy and looks VERY handsome in his black hat ;0) They are TRUE artist and I love the way their fingers become the brush and their bodies the canvas...oh, McQueen looks helpful too, I noticed him sitting in the tray waiting his turn! So sweet the way the toys are talking to each other and always around. Emit's so PRECIOUS sleeping and he really is a STAR!!! How great is it to teach boys the joy of cooking - love their aprons and enthusiasm to help you bake some yummy cupcakes...it looked like FUN!!! I'm anxious to spend time with them and love to hear that things are pleasant with all...it's amazing how much better we all feel when everyone is truly HAPPY :0)
Love, hugs and prayers ---
See you SOON ;0)
