Father's Day was a GREAT day! We had a great morning of making Daddy feel special. We got him a CD player for the truck! We still haven't installed the thing, but Dallas and I are both excited to have music to listen to in the truck. Especially on our long drives back and forth to Barraterre during our busy season. Can't wait to get my PRAISE on :)
My mom and dad also came for another visit... I am so thankful my family is good at coming to visit us. Some of our friends that moved down here back in 2008 when we did still haven't had visits from their family. That would be so sad to me. So thank you guys for coming as often as possible!!!!
Emit and Poppy had some really cute shots this week together.
Almost as soon as they walked in our door and dropped their suitcases we were all changing into our swimsuits and heading over to Stocking Island in the boat. We got together with a big group of folks on one of the beaches and had a little Daddy Day Cookout on the beach. (You can see Emit's little pinky here where he fell a few weeks ago and ripped his whole nail off :( poor little guy).
We did a little tubing, skiing, beach games... just hanging out and having fun. Our friend, O'Neil below trying out the tube.
And trying out the wipe out effect :)
Momma doing a little slalom :)
Grilling Island Style :) Yes, we could have just made a fire, but the boys wanted the grill. If they want to do the work on transporting, who am I to argue??
Joss & Emit were happy campers to have their CC to play with finally. They counted down the days and were sooooo excited to see CC & Poppy. It seriously was like the night before Christmas at the bedtime the night before they flew in. They were just too excited to sleep!
Happy Joss!! He loves playing ball of any kind really, but he kept calling these games the "Whack It" game :)
Loving overload....she can't take it :)
These boys love their CC and can't get enough playtime with her!
Tug-a-Emit....man, he loved this little game!
Little man on a mission :)
Funny side story about Emit.... he's going through the defiant little stage right now that we went through with Joss, and we are buying our time with the fussy moments, but will be happy when it is over. He gets really mad if we tell him something he doesn't like or doesn't want to hear and will say "NO" really sassy and then start swatting his arms like he's trying to hit you. He rarely actually 'hits' anyone, but if you ignore the fact that he is swatting long enough and don't make a big deal of it (we tried that and it seemed to make it worse) he will just move closer and closer to you swinging his little arm and making sure you see him. He did it for about 5 minutes straight the other day and I was laughing so hard about it, but not looking at him so he wasn't aware I was laughing at him and he kept swatting his arm until he just barely nicked my knee in the 'swat'. I finally had to regroup and look at him seriously and tell him not to swat, but we just couldn't stop laughing about it afterwards.
He is also really bad about calling Joss a 'batty-head'. I know, Batty-head is not a bad word or saying, but the way he says it and the way he uses it he might as well be calling him a bad word. We have started cracking down on him saying this too. So now Joss will tell on him when he calls him that, and I have to say, "We don't call people batty-head." It can be challenging to keep a straight face saying that. Then Dallas was talking to Jeremy (his brother) the other day and Jeremy reminded him that 'batty' is Jamaican for butt.... so my bi-lingual 2 year old really has been calling his big brother a butt-head all along. It just adds to the comical side of the situation, but it is something we will get enforced and we will teach that we can't call someone a Batty-head.
Joss couldn't squeeze Daddy hard enough above! I don't think Daddy minded one bit. :) Isn't he handsome!!!
The boys faces here crack me up. They will sit at the table making these faces back and forth and each other at dinner and just get the giggles. Such simple entertainment :)
Not sure why Emit has the karate chop going on, and Joss' fingers always go funky too.... Silly little dudes and their signature moves :)
Overall, a great way to celebrate the daddy's that we love so much. And it was a fantastic start to the week with CC & Poppy!
More to come...

This post brigs back some sweet memories of growing up. The pictures are like exact replicas of what are in y memories of growing up on the water just about ver weekend! E grill kills me! We did the exact same thing! Gad to see you guys are doing great!
Looks like a fun way to spend Father's day. Everyone looks genuinely happy. The boys silly faces crack me up. They are such little hams for the camera. Love you guys so much!
Every time I read your posts it makes me want to come and visit! I am way impressed with you on the water skis. :)
Awww, we had so much fun and it was great to hit the ground, after a 3 hour delay, and head to the water! You guys make it so much fun and spending time with the boys - each one-on-one was a VERY SPECIAL afternoon for Poppy and I :0) I love their energy and fun little personality's... This afternoon when I told Jossy I loved him so much, he seriously asked me, "CC, why do you love us so much?" I placed my hand over my heart and told him, "Jossy, it's because you are such a BIG part of my heart!" Sweet precious boy seemed to understand and was HAPPY with my answer!!! All this took place while we sat watching Emit and Mommy tube and water ski, and we "wacked" the great waves they were sending our way :0) I love all the pic's: happy moments! I'm not a father, but I surely enjoyed this Father's Day outing...
