Had my evening coffee, listening to some good music on Jango.com, the boys are sleeping and Dallas is out on a kayaking trip...Momma's trying to get things done. I always feel a boost of trying to get things together while Dallas is away. Sometimes it backfires and I just get bummed that I didn't get everything done I wanted to, but more times than not it gives me a goal to get things finished (even if it is simple as laundry folded and put away).
I was ALMOST caught up on my blog posts a few weeks back and then slacked off again and now I'm playing catch-up again. So here goes :) A few more shots of camp here at the beginning. This girl in these photos wanted to learn to swim so badly but every single thing we asked her to do like get in the water, blow some bubbles, put your face in, float on your back (basic learn-to-swim steps) was like asking her to jump off a high dive into a kiddie pool. We were finally to the point where we just said, okay when you're really ready to learn, let me know. Joss loved showing her how to do things though, so that made him feel like a big boy for sure :)
Emit was never too far behind at any given moment. Sea Cucumbers (like below) have become a huge hit over the last few weeks. They love diving them up and swimming around with as many as they can carry.
Just another morning of camp with all the BOYS! There were plenty of bugs and things around the yard to keep them entertained for a bit.
We had a guest a few weeks back that did a bunch of Castaway trips (where we drop him off for a day on an island and then pick him up). He wanted to do one of the cays a little further up in the cays, so Dallas took that day as a good chance to go do some cleaning at his 'office' up that way.
He loves this island, Normans Pond Cay, and he wanted to get rid of some of the trash that had accumulated on it, and some of the weeds that have those big prickles in them, so we made a day of it out there. Grilled some burgers for lunch, ran around on the beach, explored in the water and had fun on our "Bring Your Family to Work Day" :)
It is a really great spot with lots to do right around the island.
Here's another one of Emit's many expressions :) His smolder...
Joss was having fun playing soccer. He ran up and down the beach like crazy kicking his ball. He really has great coordination too.
Then we took to the sea...
Found some little starfish. Don't you love Joss' 'smile' here :)
Inspecting his 'tubes' a little closer.
The treasure of the morning were these old buoys. They had so much fun floating around on these things. There was a spider on one for a while that Emit would not let me get off before he put it in the water because he wanted to take it for 'a ride on the boat'. The ride was quick and ended with a watery grave for our spider friend.
Joss diving under like a big boy. He wanted to see himself underwater without his mask on.
And then he had to go under again and do something sweet for me :) See his little "I LOVE YOU"sign.
It has been so cute seeing Emit pick up on this too. His little fingers are still tricky to get the sign down, so usually he has all his fingers up except his ring finger and says, "look mom, I do something sweet for you!" :)
I love this shot of them above at the pond entrance. The water was flowing out of the pond as the tide was ebbing and it made a fun little current for them to play in right here.
They kept pretending like they were going out to see (even though the rocks were too shallow for them to be swept away) and they thought it was so funny. I couldn't snap too many pictures because the water was deeper in the middle where they kept wanting to play as all hands were needed to 'rescue' my victims :)
Just another day at the office...

I get so excited seeing the new adventures you can find... Love how Joss is ahead of Emit, but still took time to check on little brother who was in pursuit of keeping of with the big kids! I love these little dudes :0) Great smiles and sweet expressions - I never get tired of them!!! Glad you survived Summer Camp and are getting back into a routine...or trying to ;0)
They are just growing up way too fast. I need to give them some hugs and kisses before they forget me. I love you guys so much! Looks like you have had a fun and busy summer. See you guys soon!
