My little Super Under Roo's :)
Baseball has been Joss' game of choice here lately. He loves to play out in the driveway and he can really line-drive the ball sometimes. He's hit me countless times already, luckily it is with the little woofle balls and doesn't hurt 'as' badly :) But I'm also very proud that he can hit so well. Without sounding braggy, he gets that from his momma for sure! Although at his age, I probably was still hitting the tee more than anything!
Naked Little Emit :)
Kindergarten officially began a few weeks ago!
It took us a little longer and a little more money to clear Joss' school stuff through customs than we had expected. Last year we just brought it in through the airport. We know now for next year for sure which route to go. It was so sad though because the first day we went to clear it through customs, Joss thought he wasn't being 'good enough' at the office for us to get his school stuff out :( Trust me, I reassured him over and over it wasn't his fault and that he was being just fine. Stinking paperwork and customs man... they can really push your buttons. Making my poor baby think it was his fault we couldn't get it.
I just love how his little desk turned out after the makeover. This is what I started with...
Nancy found two old desks like this from Dallas' old school in Nassau. I love the storage in them and the space they can offer. I have one for Emit too that I will work on getting restored in time for him to start pre-school stuff next year probably.
I put a new piece of wood on the desktop and Dallas and I each signed a little note underneath. I'd love to see this become an annual tradition and let his little desk be a keepsake for him over the years of schooling. I let him sign his name on the first day too and he thought that was pretty special to use the 'important markers'.

He loves his little desk and special school spot. His room has already changed around AGAIN since this photo, but I'll get to that later on :)
Emit wanted a shot of him in the desk too... he feels like a mighty big boy when he sits in it.
His chair was a fun little restoration too. Our local resource center gave it to me. I was expecting to get one of the old metal style ones, but they had this one that they offered and I wasn't going to turn it down. It is a nice solid wood, and was still in really good shape. Just need to give it a little face lift :)
The boys and me on the first day of Kindergarten!
You see the little shapes above? Well, those came in our box of Pre-School stuff for Joss last year, but every morning we do school time Emit runs to the room saying he needs his shapes to do school. Most mornings he gets to do 'school' with Daddy while Joss and I are in the room. It is great to have the one on one time, and Emit feels special having Daddy all to himself too. Things will definitely change a bit when Dallas gets busier and our season kicks into gear, but hopefully we'll find a good rhythm to roll with.
My handsome little dude! He picked out his special outfit this morning. I was trying to get some of him smiling below, but he was in a more serious mood.
This one below is a little blurry, but I love his little look here :) So cute! He wanted to be a doctor still until today actually. He told me now he wants to be a soldier. I told him his Poppy used to be a soldier, a really good one too, and he thought that was very cool. So we'll see...
I will say this... he is an excellent student! The more praise I give him on his letters and his work and his activities, the more he'll work and try harder to do things that I ask him to do. Some days run smoother than others, but I imagine that will always be the case. Isn't that how life is in general?

That desk and chair are so cute...great restoration job. I so admire you for home schooling...what an incredible job you have ahead of you.
You tell Mr. Joss that I am loving this doctor and soldier talk:). He should join a branch of the military and become a dentist...best of both worlds:). I am sure I could recommend someone to mentor him :).
love love LOVE! The pictures of Joss with his desk are so stink in' cute! Also....Mason ran and grabbed some underwear to put on his head like "Joss and Memmitt". :)
Anything these guys wear, or don't wear, makes them so huggable...wish my arms could reach them! So proud of them, their eagerness to learn, and your willingness to teach! First day of school appears to have been successful and memorable...as it should be! Such a cute desk and nice makeover ;0)
