This time when we were getting ready to go visit my folks, I chose to not tell the boys how much longer we had before the trip, or when exactly we were going because I wanted to avoid the pre-trip anxiety they always get. They get so worked up and just can't take it when they know we're getting ready to go. So, we kept them distracted and they knew we were going soon. Distracted with the Nintendo (above), hanging out at the dock to watch the Mighty Machines (below)....anything we could to buy some time :)
This was a project I finished for a lady around here just before I left. I've been anxious to try this piece since I saw the purple one on the site :) As always...it wasn't perfect, but it was mine! Darn drawers (or perfect boxes to put drawers in) still give me a hard time. I'm determined to figure them out.
I've learned something about travelling with little boys, they've always got to pee! I can't leave one in their seat on the plane while I take the other one to go pee pee...most of the time we all three squeeze in the little potty, but sometimes I can get by with an alternative here :) And check out the price of that little bottle of antibacterial wash...$3.40!
They are so much easier to travel with by myself than just a year or two ago. It's crazy how good they can be when they try. They were so good for me on this travel day.
Joss wanted his babies to get strapped in for take-off and landing too :)
They always have the plane passengers giggling and smirking at their reactions when we are landing and taxiing around the airports. They are glued to the windows and very enthusiastically shouting things like, "WHOA, wook at all those mighty-chines" (Look at all those mighty machines), "Oh my goodness, look at the hairplane," "Oh my GOODNESS look at THAT hairplane", "The hairplane is driving slow, why?" "That's the biggest hairplane I ever saw!" "Look, look, that one's taking off...and that one's landing".... you get the idea, right :) And all of this is said their normal excited volumes of very loud for a small space. I'm always laughing too hard at them to say anything. I just look around to the other passengers and smile and jokingly say things like, "Well, at least they aren't screaming and crying, right!?" :)
We went straight from the airport to meet Bev, Xander & Poppy at Chic-Fil-A...yummy :)
And once we got to the house... it was nothing but toys and fun to be had.
Xander woke up all smiles and giggles :) Isn't he a cutie!! It was so good seeing him. Can't believe how long it was before I got to see him again. It took almost 7 months. Next time I see him, he'll be running around all over the place.
I'm sure he looks like Kevin as a baby, but I can see sooo much of his momma in him.
Xander kept going after Emit, and I don't think Emit minded too much, but he always made a mad-dash to escape.
But he never went too far away :)
Then there was the fun to be had outside...
and on the Gator...
We had some great weather. I wish it had been just a little bit more "FALL-ish", but it was probably better for all the rugrats that it wasn't too cold.
Poppy got some good loving from Xander Man :) I love this little peanut, he's so cute!
Think Joss is having fun??? And Emit is just off driving like a little man on a mission.
'Certified Hunk'
Joss playing more 'baseball'.
Or I guess I should say 'the whack it game'.
These boys love this Gator, that's for sue...but they love all the toys and play things at CC & Poppy's house. For about a week after we went back home Emit kept saying, "I wanna go back and play at CC's." He probably only stopped because we kept telling him we couldn't right now.
Check out Emit's new Firetruck!!!! If you can't tell... that sucker is huge. He kept telling them on the phone that for his birthday he was a "big red firetruck that has lights the flash and a ladder that goes up and down." I'd say they hit it right on the mark with this one.
Fully emerged in his trains and their rice-on-the-tracks crisis :)
It's fun to watch these guys make a mess. They make it look so entertaining.
The boys love their CC! She is so good to get down and play with them and interact with them. They thrive on that and really love that playtime.
Think Emit is having fun? :)
This was the happening place! All sorts of fun all around.
My adorable little dude with his red shoes. He loves these little shoes and looks so cute in them.
He is usually very content to be doing his own little thing as long as someone is watching him and giving him occasional praise and compliments.
Sleepy Xander! His tell-tell sign for when he's tired is putting his two middle fingers in his mouth like this. Isn't it precious!?
We took the 'whack-it game' to the next level and had a blast whacking the bubbles.
So much fun, and no mess :) YAY!
My happy boys!
Little investigator :) See his cute little teeth peeking out...
"Yeah, I know I'm handsome!"
CC giving smooches :)

i'm on Joss and Emit overload...int he very best of ways!! I'm loving all the posts. I know I say it every time but I just can't believe how fast they are growing. Emit is not the size the Joss was and Joss is a young boy. Its just unreal! I LOVE Joss' cowlick on front...its insta-style! And I didn't realize until this post that Emit has a little one on front too. They're SO cute!
These are such rare days...they are priceless to me! I'm always amazed at all the things we do, but it goes by so quickly its like a blur. I really appreciate the pictures and stories...minus the moments of conflict that come when travel can be stressful. Oh How I love these little guys, God has blesses us and I'm so thankful!!!
