Treasure Hunters

Once again, I'm a few posts behind. I will use company and "24" as my genuine excuse this time around :) We have had company for the past 3 weeks or so. It has been nice having everyone, but I'm obviously busy doing other things other than blogging. And 24, well that has been quite the obsession for Dallas and myself for the past few months, but we just watched the final two episodes last night...so what else am I supposed to do after the boys are in bed?? (LOL, that is a joke btw, but I'd much rather blog than do things I actually need to be doing).
We've had some really sweet days with our boys lately. A few 'grumpy' days thrown in there too, but way more fun and happy days than pouty ones. Don't you love how they are rubbing a dirt patch around this tree in my nice new grass?? :)

I don't even fight it. I just make them play this particular game of running round and round the tree at the same spot so I don't have patches like this around all my little trees :)
I love to sit back and watch them play together. MOST of the time it is so stinking cute!
Lately, whenever we are down at the beach we are searching for treasures :)
Or climbing in the sea grapes trees, or anything kind of tree we can find that is climbable!
I just love this one of Joss up above.
My curious little explorers & treasure hunters :)
Emit's showing me his little pistol he found in the stash. Or as they like to call them "rocket blasters". It amazes me how little boys pick up on 'shooting' things so easily. We've been told someone next door is getting a BB-Gun for Christmas....... :( :( :( I'm not at all excited about that.
Whenever we are out anywhere or playing anywhere, they figure out a way to "shoot" the bad guys coming our way. If we aren't shooting away bad guys, we are running for our lives from Hot Lava. I believe they picked this up on their Jack & the Neverland Pirates show and songs, but it is a constant threat to us. We have to 'sneak' away from it or outrun it, or blast it to bits with our rocket blasters--LOVE their little minds!
Always looking for photos to use for our praise music with church (like above). I do all the praise sets and add the lyrics to the music and photos... it is really a fun way to praise looking at HIS beauty and creation with the beautiful songs to accompany them.
See Emit's little gun above. He's telling me something very important here, can't you tell. And what did we find next....
A FORK!!!! WOW, SO AMAZING! ;)
Then we found pine needles to hide behind (up) and 'knock-buh-gators' (down) to look for pirates.
Then they turned them into spy glasses so they could share them. Emit ALWAYS has an arm full of toys...ALWAYS!
I never get tired of this ocean. I'm telling you... the Lord is good and takes care of His children, He really does! We just need to be on the lookout for it, everywhere.
WARNING...next one is a bit gross. Joss shot out a snot rocket right when he was telling me something and I had to take a pic--LOL, sorry Bev, I'm thinking you really won't like this. :)
Due to the fact that our little red wagon is a little broken right now and Joss loves to ride his bike to the beach now, I'm wondering if our days in the wagon to the beach are a little limited :( Emit still likes riding in the stroller for the most part, so he would probably still ride in the wagon if it was working.
I love our short little stroll to and from the beach.
The boys are helping me with a little project that they don't even know what it is. They just know they get to paint! I love Emit's posture... he's really concentrating on his masterpiece :)
Ann Ligon invited my boys and I to go with her to Sea Glass Beach. I don't think that is the official name of the beach, but that's what we all call it.
This is the beach on Little Exuma where Ann Ligon finds a lot of her sea glass that she uses for her jewelry. The boys had fun searching for real treasures this time around.
It totally changes your perspective when you start to focus on finding certain pieces in the sand. Just like anything when you start looking for something specific, but it was a fun little outing.
We were going to snorkel for some along the shoreline too, but the waves were a little too rough for that.
It was quite a thrill for the boys each time they found a piece. We found a lot, but some of them weren't really good pieces for what she needed, so we had a little baggie floating around (I think it still is too) the house and toy box with sea glass pieces in it.
Working together!
Do you see any sea glass???
Joss has one...
Gorgeous day and beach. The sand varies so much from beach to beach... this one as you can see from above has very coarse sand. It's so pretty.
Working with the pro and showing her their stash :)
Here's one below... right in the middle.
Emit's got one.... I LOVE this photo of Emit!
Joss found a few keepers too!
Eventually they got tired of searching in the sand and started searching the rocks for treasures.
Not long after he left, Emit was back telling me "Mommy, I'ne hungry. I want a snack." (which I hear about every 15 minutes throughout the day on average).
Joss was very proud to show me his pile of treasures he found. There was also this little spot in the rocks that looked like it was carved out perfectly as a little seat for a Joss & Emit and Joss LOVED it. He kept grabbing things, his snack, his water, his treasures...everything and would run back to the little chair in the rocks and sit down for a spell :)
One of my absolute favorite things about this stage is that they can find something fun and exciting in just about anything we do, or anywhere we go. They may need some helpful hints from time to time, or some clever suggestions, but once they get going on something, there's no telling where it will lead them and I absolutely adore that!

They are so adorable! I love their imaginations! I remember hunting for treasures on the beaches in Virginia when we were kids. The pictures of the ocean are beautiful. Love and miss you guys so much!

Treasure hunting on the beach has got to be the best! A constant influx of new treasure!
But, what DO you do when they go to bed?!?!! I mean, WHO would ask a silly question like that? (raises hand) ;)

Your grass looks amazing...way to "grow"! Its wonderful to absorb whatever beauty surrounds us and appreciate what we have...God is quite the artist! Love the fun day out searching and finding NEW things, I imagine each beach offers unique treasures to be found ;0)
