Out and About Around the New Year!

One night before Dallas' trip left, we finally got to go out and have a night out with all of our 'couples friends'. We all called in sitters and went out to dinner and dancing one night around town. It was so much fun!
I'm pretty sure everyone in our group and at the Yacht Club thought I was drunk (I assure you I was not at all even though I look a little possessed in this picture with my red eyes). None of them have had the pleasure of going out dancing with me though until this point. Dallas has only a handful of times, but it usually isn't with large groups of friends like this. If anyone from high school is reading this... you know how much fun I can have with a group of friends and people I know just having a good time (without the help of alcohol). I was probably also known as the crazy white girl dancing all over the place, but I didn't even care--we had a BLAST!
And the best part was that our friend that was at home watching the boys (a young guy that hangs out with us a lot), kept texting updates to Dallas, so I was reassured that all was well with my fellas.
We had a lot of birthdays in December and January so we had lots of little get togethers with folks. Joss is telling Ann Ligon something really important above :)
I spy an Osprey....
Do you see it?? Look right in the middle of the picture with the white head on the tree.
He didn't stay there too long as we got closer, but then he circled around and we saw he was in the middle of dinner :) See the fish he's carrying?
It has become routine to pet the fish after they get speared. Anita made sure both boys got their turn :)
We were all a little chilled in the water this day, so the spearing didn't last too long. We headed over to Hamburger Beach to stretch our legs a bit.
Boys just gotta RUN!!!!!!!!  Watch out Emit, Daddy's gonna get you :)
My cute Little Emit!
He's been so easy to get photos of lately because he's been so clingy to me for months now. He won't go to far from my side, and is very cute to smile for me or look at me for pics. When I told Joss the other day that I have a lot more of Emit and I needed him to let me get more of him, I think he decided to help me. Can't let Emit be 'ahead' in something!
He's flying like a plane in front of the 'airplane rock'!
It's always exciting going over to the ocean side of Stocking Island. It always feels like a 'new place' and somewhere exciting because we don't go there as often as some of the other beaches.
It makes me chilly seeing some of these pics of them in the water. It was almost time for sunset and it was already a cooler day, but the water temps were very chilly this day. Brrrrrr...but you just can't resist getting in the water when you're a little dude :)
The reefs and stromatolites make this area a lot of fun with the various depths and tide pools.
They are standing out by a 'bubbling' spot in the rocks. Each time it bubbled up and over the boys would start giggling.
My man and me :)
Emit is now realizing why I told them they probably didn't want to get wet. They were cold after getting out. And we had a little walk back to the boat to go to find our warm towels.
He bravely climbed through the 'dragon hole' and made it through to daddy safely.
Trees grab our attention wherever we go now because that is one of Joss' favorite things to do... climb trees.
They also love to swing!
Emit...
Joss...
Daddy and Chris were cleaning up some of the fish they speared and drew a little audience.
He had to explain each little step along the way to them, and they were taking it all in. I'm sure it won't be long before they are right there helping daddy clean the fish.
They of course had to play with the scrap pieces :)
Joss was very happy to get snuggled up in his towel!
And so was Emit :)
This is typical Emit here below... he is always finding things to hide under. Then he'll yell, "come find me" and start giggling. Hmmm, I wonder where he is? ;)
A beautiful sunset cruise at the end of fun afternoon!

Happy New Year, to a BEAUTIFUL couple! Looks like your dancing was fun... Lol, the fish petting routine is a riot! Gotta appreciate the beautiful images you capture on your trips around the area: seashells, airplane rock and imitator, surf and surfers, etc. Brr, for some reason the water does look cold...glad they soon warmed up and shared those sweet smiles :0)

Love an hugs,
CC
