Our Easter morning was a lot like our other Sunday mornings. Except we did have little goody baskets for the boys! A puzzle each and superhero each with candy. Simple, but perfect for them! Oh yeah and their new shirts. They had seen these shirts already, but I intentionally kept them out of reach so they couldn't get them dirty. They still get excited to wear these, even though they have dirt stains all over them now, but who cares... they were clean this one morning at least.
We went over to do church this morning at Rosemary's house up on the hill overlooking Elizabeth Harbour. Not a bad site to look out at huh?
She had a liter of kittens up there and they were itty bitty things.
The boys were so cute and gentle with them.
I was very proud of how well they did handling them.
They don't even have their eyes open yet!
We had to try to get a couple family pics...
Between the wind and the crazy dudes and the funky shadows, this was one of the best ones we got. I love Emit's little smile and Joss' shy grin :)
Ms. Lisa and her daughter, part of our little church family.
I don't think this view would ever get old up on the hill like this. So pretty!
I wanted to try to get another family shot on the tripod when we got home, so Joss is testing out the shutter speed for me here.
My Handsome, Handsome Fellas!! I love these guys so stinking much--One Proud Gal!
Our Little Family! Lord you have blessed us so much! Thank you for another Easter to be thankful for your resurrection. Joss and Emit were telling us what was so special about Easter and it is so precious to hear them talk about it.
We most definitely had an egg hunt.
Emit was a little distressed at first because Joss was finding eggs and he wasn't...but then he found one and moved on.
And then he found another one...
Sticky Note: The boys pray a lot these days. Most of their prayers sound identical, but they are getting really good at adding things when they need to. Emit usually jumps to the chance to pray a lot more so than Joss does, and his prayers usually sound something like this (after dramatically bowing his head and crossing his hands that is): "Ddddeeeeee Lord, fank you for dis good fooooooood, fank you for our comfortable beeeeeds, fank you for Mommy, fank you for Jossy, fank you for Daddy, fank you for Emit. Please keep my blood flowing and my heart pumping. Amen!" Pure joy to this momma's heart :)
Joss loves finding eggs. This year we opted for just the plastic ones. The didn't get too crazy over the real ones last year, and it was a bigger mess for sure.
Aren't they cute :)
Sticky Note: This one is a little long, but hang in there..it has a cute ending...
A couple of weeks ago the boys and I were riding in the truck and I believe it was right after we got the truck back from being worked on. I said something like, "Man, I sure am glad to have this truck back so we don't have to walk everywhere. It's good for us to be reminded of things that we need to be thankful for." So we started naming things we should be thankful for and we got to Daddy very quickly.
We were talking about how we should be thankful for Daddy and the work we do because that means we get to spend a lot more time with Daddy than most gets get to spend with their dads. This was when Daddy was out on a trip and they both started pouting and said they were sad because Daddy was gone. So we started again, on things that God has blessed us with that some people don't even have just to remind us of all the things we can be thankful for.
Again, they said the truck, even though it is old and beat up. Then we said our house, and I told them how there are a lot of people that don't even have a place to live.
Then Emit chimmed in and said, "And some people live in Africa!"
Joss said, "And CC & Poppy live in Alabama, and where is it that Bev and Kevin and Xander live again?"
I said, "New Jersey."
Joss, "NEW JERSEY...WHOA!!!"
Emit, "And Bev and Kevin...they have an apple tv!"
I got so tickled at how that whole conversation went and the course it took. But the fact that he remember something totally random like that cracked me up. Bev, you made quite the impression on Emit with talk of your Apple tv :)
BATMAN & SPIDERMAN Here to save the day! I'll have so many fun things I can do in the next storybook I do for the boys with their toys with these guys around :)
A little batting practice!
Joss kept telling us that he wants all four of us to get married and that he is the happiest when we are all together. It's sweet because I remember so many times telling my daddy I was going to grow up and marry him :)
Emit and I had a fun little swing in the hammock playing with Batman and just chatting.
Such sweet moments with my boys!
I was so excited to see this little tiny pepper budding. It is just about ready to pick now, but it still isn't very big. Maybe this fall I'll have a little better luck with my garden. This time of year is so hard with the heat, and my lack of knowledge of course.
I was such to have my camera with me this afternoon while I was watering the yard and garden. The birds would come out like crazy when I was watering the yard because this was before we were getting our summer rain showers.
They wanted a fresh bath as much at the rest of the plants needed it. It's always a fun time being out in the yard when I'm watering it like this. The birds and lizards are all over the place soaking up the drops.
