Our first full day back home, the boys and I had to get out on the water. Dallas took us by this newest addition to our list of responsibilities, a 27' Catalina sailboat. This boat was donated to the sailing club and Dallas and Joel have been put in charge or the maintenance for the boat. The owner still gets to use it when he visits throughout the year. He hasn't been to visit since this was donated back in August though, so we get a pretty good deal out of it. We could even offer other trips aboard it, but we haven't worked all those plans and prices up just yet. Still needs a little more TLC.
We swung by to see it before headed over to Stocking Island. Don't you love Zoe's little lifejacket? The brand is 'Outward Hound'. Some of you may be familiar with the Outdoor Leadership organization called 'Outward Bound' :) I think she feels safer in it, because she's a lot more mello when she has it on. If she doesn't have it on, she tends to spaz out on the boat.
My handsome Emit!!!!!
These two sailboats just above are some of the Junior Sailing Club boats that were donated to the club this summer as well. That club has taken off, and Dallas is a big player in it. I'm very proud of his dedication to the club and the kids. Our boys have heard us say, "When you're a little older, you can sail one of those boats if you want" a lot, so now when we see the boats or show them to someone, they say, "That's my boat I'm going to sail someday!" :) It will be so cute seeing them sail these little boats someday.
It was August which meant it was HOT, but it also meant that the oceanside of Stocking Island was going to be the most refreshing water temps, so that's where we headed.
{{SIGH}} No Crowds, No Traffic, No Lines, just the way we like it :)
The boys were just thrilled to be out here playing around with Daddy, but I just love Joss' posture on this one below where he's laying in the surf, totally chilled and content.
Emit's many faces always crack me up... I never know what I'm going to catch him doing on the camera! I still haven't found the 'perfect' caption for the one on the bottom left below me here where he is running out of the waves. Just cracks me up each time I see it. I have my screensaver on the computer set to my pictures and when one's this come up, it always brings laughter :)
Zoe LOVES the beach! This was her first day there, and she had a ball. She runs all out as hard and as fast as her little legs will carry her. Then she digs.... really deep, really fast, for what...no clue! Usually she starts digging right beside me and kicks all the sand right on top of us.
Joss makes my heart pump proudly in this picture. He is getting so grown and can be such a sweetheart. He can instantly turn stinker mode just as easily, but he is such a handsome little guy. They both are in my book, he just continues to surprise me at how fast he is growing and actually getting bigger before our eyes.
Next stop, Chat-n-Chill, one of the boys favorite spots in the harbor. They love it because of the fun tree swings, but mostly I think it is because they associate lunch at Chat-n-Chill with COKE! That's about the only time they get it, and they always get super excited about it.
All the kids are infatuated with our little Chiweenie. Joss likes to tell everyone that "She's a cute little chiweenie, isn't she?" :)
And to put icing on top of an already wonderful day on the water, when we were coming back to the dock, my very own dolphin friend asked if I could come in and play for a little bit. I was more than happy to oblige :) Oh, I was so close to touching this one. I got within about a 1' underwater one time, and I swear to you the thing turned 'her' head slightly toward me as if to say, "what, you really think I'm gonna let yo touch me?" and then shook her head back and forth to say, "no way sister!"
Still, a fun swim and absolutely priceless moment. Seriously, I never get tired of this kind of stuff. I love the dolphins, but getting to swim with wild ones just a few feet off shore...BLESSED!!!
