I got to take the boys to pick out some new shoes one day, and this isn't something I get to do a lot with them. We usually pick them out online or my mom or Bev buy their shoes :) So it was fun to take them in the store and let them help me pick them out. For the longest they kept picking out the most expensive ones, so I had to give them some boundaries of course, but they were so excited with their picks.
Yes, they are a little big for the stroller... but it buys me patience and sanity when I'm out shopping or out in busy public places, so I'm going to use it while I can. We never use it in Exuma, so it is kind of a treat for them to get to ride when we're stateside...
They loved posing for me and asking me with their cool new digs! They look like such big boys...when did this happen???
There was no chance of them going to sleep without their shoes on this night. We took baths of course, but then the shoes went right back on :)
NO ONE FIGHTS ALONE!!!!!!
A bunch more random iPhone pics from out gallivanting. My mom and I even managed to escape long enough for a little pedicure session. It's crazy how stressful it was though being out and worrying about mom picking something up or getting cut or slipping or any number of things going wrong. Makes you want to stay bundle up in a cozy little room and not go or do anything almost, but that gets tiring and wears on a person after a short while.
Zoe has rarely missed a story time. I've had to stop letting her up in the bed with the boys and me at home now because they get so excited when she's up there with them, but she's almost always right there in the room while we're reading. She never strays too far from me or the boys.
One of the last days we went to visit my mom and dad in the hospital, I took a batch of Crean Cookies (Lisa & Bethany's yummy sugar cookie recipe that never disappoints!). I think my favorites were the little bayer ones and the doctors :)
I remember a lot of silly time in the room this day. My dad started playing around with Siri on his iPhone asking her some silly questions, and we were all getting kicks out of her responses. At one point he asked her what a humahumanukanukaapua was because they boys had learned that fish from watching Octanauts and they thought Poppy was so cool for asking. An ice cream treat with Poppy was in order, of course... which is why I've got that 'look in my eyes' in the car. Their interstate games were driving this tired momma bonkers!
Next up, meeting daddy at the airport :) After two and a half months of not seeing this stud of a man, we were all super duper excited to see Daddy! Our wait for him got delayed which is why they are so distraught in the picture just below :)
I just love this picture of Joss and me at my grandparents grave site. We pass the cemetery a lot when we're driving there and I had mentioned it to him a few time. He really wanted to stop by and see it so we did. It scared Emit a bit I think, and he asked if it was okay for him to stay in the car. Of course, I wasn't going to force that, but I am thankful for this little detour that Joss wanted to go on. I love my Nannie and Papa and miss them so much! I wish so badly they could be around to be a part of this stage of my life. I have much comfort knowing I will see them both again someday "When we all get to Heaven!"
Joss wanted a buzz cut really badly like Emit's, but he wouldn't let me do it. He said he wanted Daddy to do it, so he waited a long time for Daddy to buzz his head. We had to get a shot of everyone's cute buzzed heads :)
You'll notice all the planes are parked outside of 'SMEDDD', Joss' adorable way of putting 'Smitty's' on our cardboard town. He sounded it out and put "Sme" and "D's" together... thought it was precious! I'm drooling over the very affordable, and very nice lumber easily available at the box stores. Probably a good thing for our bank account that I don't live close to one ;)
Stay tuned....
