I don't believe I ever posted these, and if I have... well then it has been months already anyways and no big deal ;) These were on a different camera on one of our first few outings in the Catalina sailboat. This was Zoe's first time on the sailboat, of course, she was nervous. Joss was such a cute helper with everything Dallas was doing.
Emit had fun going over the chartbooks and planning the course :) Zoe got a little freaked when we went snorkeling. She sat on the deck and howled and whimpered very loudly. She was very happy when we returned. We were snorkeling near Sand Dollar Beach, and it felt like an underwater graveyard almost. Broken bits and pieces of sand dollars everywhere.
We got to take the boys in a dinghy and that was a pretty bit deal. Unfortunately, while we were out, the wind completely died... so it was lucky we had this little dinghy, because we needed it to tow us back to anchorage.
It was around this time (late September, early October) last year when these guys really made huge leaps in their swimming skills. Using mask and snorkels, being able to "float like a starfish" (on their backs), diving down... all kinds of fun stuff. Pretty exciting to know they are a little more independent around the water, it takes away SOME of the stress around the water and we can all relax a little more.
Dallas kicked off our first trip of the 2013-14 season with this sweet couple on a Best of Both Worlds. We had a friend join us this season as our second guide.
Tazy Smith joined ranks with Out-Island Explorers and we had a GREAT season with him. Really great young man and Dallas had a blast working along side him.
He may be going off to college this next season, then again, he may be with us again. Selfishly, we would love to keep him, but we wish him the best of luck and would pay his way through school if we could. So if there is anyone out there reading this that would like to help fund a great Bahamian kid in his higher education goals...let me know :)
I had my friend, Lyndsay, help me drive the truck out for the swap on this trip. I drove the boat up to Barraterre, met Lyndsay who drove our truck. Then I picked up the sailboat, launched it and picked up Dallas' kayaks before they traded out mode of transport and headed back out. We were both on kid duty too, so this was a busy day at the office for us momma's :)
This couple JUST emailed me about two weeks ago and sent us a photo of their brand new baby girl! They said she was their Exuma souvenir and that they had a little Bahamian flag hanging up in her room :) I just love that!! No, we weren't a part of the actual ACT, but I like to think we helped set the mood on our trip, and that makes me happy! Good times to be had in Exuma :)
The picture above of the foggy window was in our truck when I headed out to meet the group with hot pizzas at the end of their trip. It was pouring rain and I couldn't see a thing. But just a short time later...the sun was out and shining as pretty as ever.
That night at home, the boys enjoyed their Daddy being home from his trip!

I know it was helpful having Tazy join the crew, hoping the best comes his way...even if that keeps him with y'all. The events and life happenings being made possible are awesome!!!
