A day's work up to Staniel Cay

More Bonfire fun on the beach! When the temps are cooler, this is one of my favorite things to do. No bugs, great breezes and a sky full of stars that takes your breath away each time. I will get some nice shots of the stars this year. It's a goal!!!

When work calls us up to Staniel Cay, it can be either:
a) a lot of work hauling gear a long distance to turn around and come right back
or
b) a lot of work hauling gear a long distance, throw in a little family fun, then turn around and head back.
We often go for option B :)
Zoe got to go inside Thunderball with us on this trip :) And that will probably be her last time in there. I think she's happier on the boat, even though she's pretty sure we're abandoning her forever and will never come back (even though we always do) ;) crazy psychotic dog!
We took Tazy along to get him used to the Staniel Cay Runs so that he'd be ready to help and know the lay of the land when he goes up with Dallas on trips. His twin brother, Mazy, and his girlfriend joined us too. These kids have grown up here and this was their first or second time up the cays. CRAZY to be so close and never get out there and see it. But it is always a treat to show someone for the first time too, especially folks from Exuma!
Stopped in on these crazy swimming pigs. And then stopped off to give our greetings to the iguanas. The boys hadn't seen the iguanas in a while, so they were fascinated with chasing them around, and then running in terror as the iguanas turned and chased them.
Tazy was the "iguana whisperer" and had them eating out of his hand.
Sweet snuggles on the ride home in the boat! We stopped off in Farmers Cay to get a photo with JR The Woodcarver. See the bonefish carving Dallas is holding below? That's JR with him and he carves all kinds of things out of local wood, mostly Lignumvitae, I believe. He's trying to sell this piece here for about $1,000 I think. Any takers??? ;) It's a huge carving and looks really cool, but I just can't see it selling for that. But you never know. JR has become a buddy of Dallas'. When Dallas is up in the cays for his trips he stops in with our guests and someone usually buys one of his smaller pieces. We have a fun parrot carving he did a couple years ago. JR calls Dallas pretty regularly asking for him to add minutes to his cell phone. You know.. since we live in the "Big City" compared to Farmers Cay :)
Dallas being 'jokey' as Bahamians say it letting Tazy drive the boat. These guys can always find some fun to have when they are together!
