HAPPY 6TH BIRTHDAY JOSS!!!!!!!
These are waaaaaaay behind! Emit just turned 5 and Joss is about to be 7 in a few short weeks now. But this was our little celebration for our special birthday boy :)
He asked for a race car cake. The fondant was a lot of fun to work with, but I am just not a fan of the taste. This one was a marshmallow recipe, but to me it is hard to beat the yummy flavor of the buttercream. He could care less on that aspect, and love the little cars zooming around it.
I love seeing their faces when the cake is revealed!!! It is priceless and as long as they enjoy it as much as they do, I will do what I can to make their day's feel special.
We had a low-key day, as usual, but it was a lot of fun!
You'll notice the photo just above on the bottom-right of Emit with his head in the pillow.... that is standard birthday-pout protocol for whichever kid is not celebrating the birthday. They still don't get it that we always do fun things for both of them and usually the treats that one gets is for both of them. I've said it before, but it's hard to reason with Little Ones!
We took them to Splash for lunch and the managers gave us permission to swim in the hotel pool :) HUGE hit! It was actually pretty chilly on this day, so we were all chattering our teeth after we stayed in for too long, but they loved it!
After playing at the pool and some lunch, we came home for the cake! We always try to do the cake early enough so we can run the sugar off before bedtime ;)
My handsome 6 year old... time flies when you're having fun!

What an AWESOME cake...6 already and getting so big! I'm thrilled to see it was a fun day for him, I really hate missing their special days, but know they are HAPPY being in your spotlight!!! Happy Birthday my sweet Jossy, CC loves you VERY MUCH...
